About the Project: NLR India Foundation (NLRIF) will soon implement a project, “Youth-Led Engagement to Stop Leprosy Transmission in Delhi,” in a high-endemic district of Delhi. The project aims to develop and support a cadre of young leprosy survivors to promote early diagnosis, contact screening and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), address stigma and discrimination, and strengthen community engagement with the public health system.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for implementation of the project. S/he will work closely with Youth Champions, communities, frontline workers, district health authorities, consultants and other relevant stakeholders.

We work in eight states, namely, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Reporting: Position will report to the National Community Based Rehabilitation Coordinator (NCBRC).

Job Description:
• Coordinate and implement the project in accordance with the approved project plan, objectives, timelines and expected results.
• Prepare activity plans, schedules and implementation plans and coordinate their timely execution with relevant NLRIF staff, consultants and stakeholders.
• Identify and facilitate the selection of Youth Champions from amongst the young adults with lived experience of leprosy, ensuring meaningful participation of young women and diverse community members.
• Organise training and capacity-building of Youth Champions on leprosy prevention, contact screening, SDR-PEP, rights and entitlements, communication, leadership and advocacy.
• Provide regular mentoring and handholding support to Youth Champions and facilitate their continued participation and leadership in project activities.
• Support Youth Champions in community outreach and mobilisation to promote early recognition of leprosy, early diagnosis and timely treatment.
• Facilitate community participation in contact screening and preventive interventions, including SDR-PEP, and address misconceptions, stigma and discrimination related to leprosy.
• Support communities to identify and articulate their health, social protection and other legitimate demands, and facilitate appropriate linkages with available services.
• Facilitate regular interface and dialogue between Youth Champions, communities, frontline workers and district authorities to identify and address gaps in leprosy prevention and services.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government departments, health facilities, frontline workers and other relevant stakeholders, including support to the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) where appropriate.
• Facilitate community-led advocacy and social accountability on early detection, contact tracing, contact screening and SDR-PEP, and support follow-up on agreed actions.
• Support Youth Champions to document implementation gaps and barriers, including missed contact screening, delays in diagnosis, low uptake of prophylaxis, stigma and discrimination.
• Collect, compile and analyse project data and field evidence and use the findings to strengthen implementation and inform advocacy with government and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and results, including the engagement of Youth Champions, community mobilisation, service uptake and achievement of planned outputs and outcomes.
• Prepare timely project reports, activity reports, case studies, success stories and other programme documentation as required.
• Document experiences, innovations, challenges and lessons from the project and contribute to developing evidence for replication of the youth-led model.
• Organise and facilitate learning events, exchange visits and cross-learning activities, including learning from relevant initiatives such as TB Youth Champions.
• Coordinate with project consultants and technical resource persons, providing them with necessary information, field support and follow-up for their assigned responsibilities.
• Coordinate field visits, meetings, workshops and other project-related events involving NLRIF officials, government representatives, community members, Youth Champions, donors and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with relevant NLRIF teams and partners to ensure effective coordination, communication and integration of project activities with related programme efforts.
In addition to the responsibilities directly related to the project, the Project Coordinator may be required to contribute, as appropriate, to NLRIF's wider work in Delhi and other assigned areas, including:
• Ensuring compliance with NLRIF's policies, procedures, values and ethical standards.
• Performing any other reasonable duties related to the position as assigned by the Supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.

Qualification and Experiences :
• Graduation in any discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in development or health programmes (preventive, promotive and curative), preferably involving community engagement, advocacy, programme coordination or technical assistance.
• Experience of working on leprosy, tuberculosis, other neglected tropical diseases, disability or related public health and social development issues will be preferred.
• Experience of working with government systems and multiple stakeholders will be an advantage.
• Experience in community mobilisation, youth engagement, advocacy, training or capacity building will be preferred.
• Experience in documentation, data analysis, report writing and/or digital communication will be an advantage.
• Training or experience in physiotherapy, community-based rehabilitation or a related field will be an added advantage. Candidates with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)-certification will be preferred

Other preferred skills :
• Ability to engage effectively with young people, persons affected by leprosy, community groups, frontline workers and government officials.
• Good communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
• Ability to organise and coordinate meetings, trainings, workshops and field activities.
• Ability to collect, analyse and present programme data.
• Good report-writing and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good written and spoken Hindi and English.
• Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
• Good time management and ability to work to deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake regular field travel.
• High level of integrity, accountability, dependability and commitment to NLRIF's values.

Contractual appointment with fixed term of 12 months. Renewal thereafter on basis of performance and requirements of project/ NLR India.

Remuneration
Compensation will be based on experience and qualification.
