About the Project
We are seeking a committed and experienced Child Development Coordinator (CDC) to support the implementation creche programme in Odisha and Jharkhand. The programme aims to establish and manage approximately 200 community-based creches, primarily serving children aged 6 months to 3 years, with a strong focus on early childhood care and development, nutrition, health, growth monitoring, child safety and community participation. The Child Development Coordinator will play a key technical role in ensuring quality implementation of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), nutrition, health, growth monitoring and child development interventions across the creche programme.

Required Qualification
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as:
Food & Nutrition
Nutrition & Dietetics
Clinical Nutrition
Food Science
Public Health
Home Science
Social Work
Social Science
or another relevant discipline.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a relevant area.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in:
Early Childhood Care and Development
Child nutrition
Maternal and child health
Community health/nutrition programmes
ICDS-related programmes
Creche/day-care programmes
Child development programmes
Government/CSR/development-sector projects
Training and capacity building
Field monitoring and programme implementation

Key Skills Required
Strong understanding of early childhood development and child care
Knowledge of child nutrition and growth monitoring
Understanding of community-based programme implementation
Training and facilitation skills
Field monitoring and reporting skills
Ability to work with frontline workers and community stakeholders
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Documentation and report-writing skills
Basic computer/MS Office skills
Ability to travel extensively within the project area
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate who is:
Passionate about improving the health, nutrition and development of young children. Comfortable working in rural and community settings. Willing to undertake regular field visits. Capable of training and mentoring field-level personnel. Strong in coordination and stakeholder engagement. Able to identify implementation gaps and develop practical solutions. Sensitive to the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Committed to child safety, dignity and protection.

Languages Required: Hindi, Local tribal dialects, Odia, Bengali, etc. would be an added advantage.
Reports to: Programme Coordinator
Key Coordination: Creche Supervisors, Creche Workers, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA, ICDS functionaries, health personnel and other programme stakeholders.
