About the organisation

PATHA for Rights (PFR) is a community-based, women-led organisation based in Manikpur Sarhat block of Chitrakoot district, UP. It aims to work towards development premised on human rights, gender equality and social justice, and to transform the lives of socio-economically marginalised communities by advancing the rights, freedoms and agency of girls and women.

PFR envisions that girls and women will have and exercise their full agency, with the freedoms, rights and opportunities they need to make decisions about their lives.

PFR focuses its mission on education, feminist leadership development and cultivating climate resilience, including promoting a green environment and fostering efficient water governance in the area. Our work recognises that gender inequality intersects with social and economic exclusion, and that lasting change is rooted in the leadership, knowledge and agency of communities themselves.

The opportunity

PFR is expanding its team and inviting applications for the post of Programme Coordinator, exclusively from qualified women candidates.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with communities, supporting a team, being part of a growing organisation and turning ideas into meaningful action on the ground. We are particularly interested in women who bring a commitment to gender equality, social justice and community-led change.

Job Description

The role will include:

* Planning and implementing programme activities in line with agreed timelines and objectives.
* Supporting and guiding programme and field staff, including coordinating and delegating tasks within the team.
* Monitoring programme budgets and helping prioritise the effective use of programme funds.
* Monitoring progress and identifying areas where the team may need additional support.
* Working with women's collectives and community members to support participation, leadership and local action.
* Building professional relationships with relevant community, government and other stakeholders.
* Ensuring timely documentation and reporting of programme activities and learning.
* Working closely with the Board representatives, Advisors, office and field staff to strengthen programme implementation and contribute to achieving PFR's mission.

Desired Qualification, Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who is committed to working with women and communities and is comfortable combining fieldwork with programme coordination and documentation.

* Minimum 2 years of field experience with a Postgraduate degree in Social Work, OR 4+ years of field experience with an Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
* Experience working with NGOs, government agencies, or development organisations, including programme planning, implementation, monitoring and documentation.
* Experience of working with women in all their diversity at the field level is essential.

* Field experience of working on water-related issues will be an asset.
* Two-wheeler and valid driving licence will be an asset.
