About the Programme
VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation works towards advancing VAANI’s mission by supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing children across the lifecycle—from birth to higher education. The programme focuses on early identification and intervention, education, rehabilitation, skill development, and continued support to enable children to reach their full potential.
English language development is critical from the foundational to remedial stages, strengthening communication, literacy, and academic learning. The programme integrates English with Indian Sign Language (ISL) to promote a bilingual approach to learning and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop age-appropriate and accessible English language content and lesson plans for deaf students at the foundational and elementary levels
• Deliver engaging, learner-centred English instruction using diverse teaching strategies.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs and language levels of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Assess and track students’ language development, identify learning gaps, and provide remedial support.
• Use digital tools and visual resources to enhance English language learning
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured classroom environment.
• Maintain student attendance, performance, and progress records.
• Analyse learning outcomes and prepare reports to support programme improvement.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, counsellors, and other stakeholders to support students’ overall development.

10. Prior knowledge of ISL is preferred or willingness to learn ( Training provided)

Academics: Master's in English (MA)/ B Ed in Special Education/ BA,B Ed/ D.Ed.)
