Position Summary
The Program Assistant will support the Program Lead with day-to-day program support with students, youth and civil society organisations across the 3 programs - Frontliners’ Insurance Program (FLIP), Abhijit Sen Rural Internship Program (ASRI), and Climate & Communities, and assist in planning and coordinating meetings, workshops, training programs, field visits, consultations and other program activities.
 
The role involves close coordination with interns and mentors of ASRI, fellows and consultants of climate and communities program and civil society organisations under FLIP to ensure timely project delivery, effective utilization of funds, on-field support, monitoring and evaluation, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in line with program objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Providing assistance in program implementation – Frontliners’ Insurance Program (FLIP), Abhijit Sen Rural Internship Program, and Climate & Communities
 
Maintain program calendars, trackers and database:
  • FLIP - Database of CSOs, online and offline orientation sessions, maintenance of data of registration, enrolment and claims of the CSOs, dashboard updates
  • ASRI - Applications, induction program schedule, intern field placement details, CSO database, mentor database, field reports submitted by the interns, etc.
  • Climate & Communities - Organise incoming field documentation, photos, and notes into consistent file structures and maintain repository, maintain a simple tracker of the documentation status, maintain fellowship planning trackers
  • (timelines, budget, applicant/partner lists, fellows’ reports, etc.)
  • Prepare reports, concept notes, presentations, and program documentation
  • Assist in identifying and addressing operational and coordination requirements of ongoing programs
Eligibility Criteria / Qualifications & Experience
  • A post-graduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, Rural Development, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience preferably in:
  • Program coordination and/or implementation in development sector  oWorking with rural and urban marginalised communities, grassroots organisations and other civil society organisations
  • Research, documentation and knowledge management
  • Coordination and logistics support for training programs, workshops or multistakeholder engagement
  • Stakeholder coordination involving CSOs, academics, development sector practitioners, researchers, government agencies, academic institutions.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budget tracking and grant management.
  • Experience in capacity building of CSO leadership and teams.
  • Excellent reporting, documentation, and MIS management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language proficiency in English, Hindi and any Indian local language (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office/Google Workspace, particularly Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.

Compensation
  • Annual remuneration ranging from INR 4,80,000/- to INR 6,12,000/-, inclusive of applicable taxes, EPF, and other staff benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Contract Period
  • Full-time Contract or employment
  • Renewable annually based on performance and project requirements
