Through community-based approaches, ADHAR partners with government departments, local institutions, and international agencies to improve the lives of vulnerable children, women, and families in rural India.

About the Project

"Sustainable Development of Children in Panna," supported by terre des hommes (tdh) Germany, aims to strengthen child protection, education, and community-based support systems for vulnerable children in Panna district, Madhya Pradesh. The project works closely with families, schools, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and government child protection mechanisms to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Position Summary

ADHAR is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Coordinator to lead the day-to-day planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project in Panna. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of education, child rights, community mobilization, and project management, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with government departments, community structures, and the donor organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Implementation
Lead the planning and implementation of project activities in line with the approved work plan, budget, and timelines agreed with tdh Germany. Ensure activities are child-centred, gender-sensitive, and aligned with ADHAR's mission.

Stakeholder Coordination
Build and maintain effective working relationships with Panchayati Raj Institutions, schools, School Management Committees, Anganwadi centres, District and Block Education Officer, Child Welfare Committees (CWC), District Child Protection Units (ICPS/Mission Vatsalya), and other relevant government departments and community structures in Panna.

Community Mobilization
Facilitate the formation and strengthening of community-based child protection structures, such as Village/Ward Child Protection Committees and children's groups, and support awareness-building on child rights and protection.

Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting
Track project progress against indicators, maintain accurate field-level data and records, and prepare timely narrative and financial reports for ADHAR management and tdh Germany, in the required format and language.

Team Supervision and Capacity Building
Supervise and mentor field staff, community volunteers, and para-workers associated with the project. Organize training and orientation sessions to build their capacity on child protection, education, and communication skills.

Child Safeguarding Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to ADHAR's Child Safeguarding Policy and applicable Indian laws, including the POCSO Act, 2012 and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, in all project activities.

Liaison and Representation
Represent ADHAR in relevant district-level meetings, forums, and networks related to child rights and protection, and coordinate with tdh Germany Team during project visits, reviews, and evaluations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Master's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant field experience in child rights, education, or community development projects; prior experience working directly with children and communities will be preferred.
- Sound understanding of the Indian child protection legal and policy framework, including the JJ Act, POCSO Act, and RTE Act.
- Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, stakeholder coordination, and government liaison.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Hindi; working knowledge of English preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with basic data management and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Panna district and reside in the project location (Panna Town).
- A valid two-wheeler driving license will be an added advantage.
