South Kolkata Hamari Muskan (SKHM) is implementing a project in the Bowbazar red-light area to support adult women and young women from vulnerable communities in accessing safer livelihood and employment opportunities.

The project will support 50 adult women through alternative livelihood and enterprise development and 30 young women through job-readiness, digital literacy and skill-development pathways. The project also recognizes the psychosocial challenges, stigma and pressures faced by participants as they work towards greater independence and economic security.

South Kolkata Hamari Muskan (SKHM) is looking for a Communicative Skill Development Session Expert to support young women (age 18 to 30 years) from vulnerable communities as part of a livelihood and employment-readiness programme. The programme will support young women in developing the confidence, communication and workplace skills required to pursue entry-level employment, vocational training and other livelihood opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

Conduct structured communicative skill development sessions for young women.
Strengthen spoken English, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Support participants in developing confidence for workplace interactions.
Prepare participants for interviews, professional conversations and basic workplace communication.
Use practical, participatory methods suited to young women from varied educational backgrounds.
Provide individual guidance and feedback where required.
Coordinate with the SKHM team to assess participants' progress and identify areas requiring additional support.
Maintain regularity and punctuality in conducting sessions.
Work sensitively and respectfully with young women from vulnerable and diverse backgrounds.

Requirements:
Strong communication and spoken English skills along with Bengali skills.
Experience in teaching, training, communication skills or employability training.
Ability to work with young adults from varied educational and social backgrounds.
Good interpersonal skills, patience and an encouraging approach.
Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged communities will be an advantage.
Reliability and punctuality.

Location: Bowbazar, Kolkata
Engagement: Part-time / consultant basis / once or twice in a week
