Position Overview: Accountant
BJUP is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day accounting, financial documentation, banking transactions, statutory compliance and project-level financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain day-to-day accounting records and financial transactions in Tally.
• Manage cash and bank transactions and undertake regular bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and maintain vouchers, ledgers, cash books and supporting financial documentation.
• Support project-wise financial reporting and preparation of Statements of Expenditure.
• Ensure adherence to organisational financial policies and accounting procedures.
• Maintain bills, quotations, purchase documents, challans and payment records.
• Support internal/statutory audits and coordinate with the Chartered Accountant and auditors as required.
• Assist in salary disbursement, statutory compliance, budget monitoring and resolution of account discrepancies.
Location: Patna, Bihar (1 Post) Compensation: Negotiable, based on qualification, relevant experience, knowledge and suitability.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation; proficiency in Tally and MS Excel is essential.
• Previous accounting experience in an NGO/development organisation will be preferred.
• Knowledge of project accounting, statutory compliance, taxation and audit processes will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise multiple assignments and work independently as well as within a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and willingness to travel to project locations when required.
• Fresh graduates with sound accounting knowledge, proficiency in Tally and a strong willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
