Background & Scope of engagement:
Water security is a major development challenge in urban India, driven by rapid urbanization, rising water demand, declining groundwater, and climate variability. Hyderabad, one of India’s fastest-growing cities, has seen significant urban expansion, which has reduced natural recharge areas, increased surface runoff, and placed greater pressure on groundwater resources.
The Serilingampally Zone of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is especially vulnerable to groundwater depletion due to rapid development. Although municipal water supply is expanding, groundwater remains a vital supplementary source for domestic and institutional needs. Sustainable groundwater recharge and conservation are essential for long-term urban water security.
To address these challenges, WaterAid India, launched the Amruthvarshini Project in May 2023. The project aimed to enhance groundwater replenishment through rainwater harvesting, managed aquifer recharge, community mobilization, awareness campaigns, and institutional strengthening.
Over the past three years, the programme has produced increased groundwater recharge, photographs, videos, beneficiary stories, and communication materials. These now need to be converted into engaging digital content to support knowledge sharing and future urban water security initiatives.
In this context, Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) seeks to engage a consultant for ‘Video Documentation of Change Stories’ as outlined in the following terms and conditions.
Objective of the contract:
