Brief on the Organization:
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. Project Brief:
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) serves as a Sub-Recipient (SR) under the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) for the period April 2024 to March 2027, to implement key capacity-building initiatives under the National AIDS Control Program Phase V (NACP-V). The project officially commenced on May 1, 2024. PHFI is responsible for implementing activities under three major components:
1. SR Activity Management HUB
2. Capacity Building – Central Region
3. Capacity Building – North Region
As the SR for the SR Activity Management HUB, PHFI will manage and coordinate sub-recipient activities and provide institutionalized oversight and technical support. This includes performance monitoring, financial management, risk mitigation, and facilitating capacity-building interventions. The HUB plays a critical role in ensuring horizontal integration at the SACS and NACO levels and acts as a central technical agency for strengthening community systems (CSS), DISHA, and community-led monitoring (CLM). In the Central and North Regions, PHFI will directly implement capacity-building activities in line with the project agreement and work plans. These include training, technical assistance, and supportive supervision aimed at enhancing service delivery in HIV prevention, care, and support. The SR ensures effective resource management, collaboration with the Principal Recipient (PR) and stakeholders, and alignment of programmatic goals across all implementation sites.
PHFI’s role across these three components emphasizes accountability, technical excellence, and a coordinated approach to achieving the goals of the HIV program under GFATM.
Job Summary:
The Associate Coordinator (Capacity Building Unit) supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring capacity-building initiatives under the National AIDS Control Program
(NACP) and other public health projects. The Associate Coordinator will also assist in monitoring project progress, facilitating communication among stakeholders, contributing to data analysis and report reporting.
Deliverables:
• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of national, regional, state, and district-level capacity-building activities, including training, workshops, orientations, and review meetings.
• Coordinate with National Program Divisions, State AIDS Control Societies (SACS), government departments, implementing partners, technical agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely execution of project activities.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and disseminating training curricula, facilitator guides, participant handbooks, presentations, job aids, and other learning resources.
• Undertake data analysis (in STATA or R) and review of literature, as and when required, as part of the project.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, meeting minutes, concept notes, briefing papers, presentations, progress reports, donor reports, and other project documentation.
• Perform any other task as assigned by the project team and PI.
Qualification:
Essential:
• Master’s Degree in Public Health/ Social Sciences or related field.
Experience:
Essential:
• No prior work experience required; up to 6 months of relevant experience in data analysis and/or literature review is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience in project management, documentation, and coordination activities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
