Position: Bridge Course Coordinator

Summary of Key Functions
The Bridge Course Coordinator will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive and congenial environment at Garima Greh and facilitating the educational, skill development, life skills, career counselling and rehabilitation-related needs of transgender residents. The Coordinator will work closely with residents, Project Manager, educational institutions, vocational training institutes, government departments and other organizations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supportive Environment & Resident Participation
* Work towards creating and maintaining a safe, supportive and congenial environment at Garima Greh.
* Ensure participation of transgender residents in productive and meaningful activities.
* Assist transgender residents in continuing and improving their educational activities and studies.
* Ensure equal and non-discriminatory access to all resources and facilities of Garima Greh for all residents.
* Resolve general issues of residents by adopting a sensitive, respectful and transgender-friendly approach.
2. Education, Life Skills & Skill Development
* Assess the interests, abilities and educational/skill development needs of enrolled residents.
* Facilitate appropriate life skill training for transgender residents.
* Develop and use suitable teaching aids and educational materials to support learning and skill development activities.
* Identify suitable educational, vocational and skill development opportunities according to the interests and abilities of residents.
3. School & Vocational Institute Coordination
* Make regular visits to schools, educational institutions and vocational training institutes.
* Coordinate with concerned officials and apprise them of the educational and training needs of Garima Greh residents.
* Facilitate the enrolment of residents in appropriate educational and vocational training programmes.
4. Networking & Linkages
* Develop and maintain networking with Government and Non-Government Organizations, institutions and agencies providing education, vocational training and skill development opportunities.
* Facilitate residents in getting enrolled in skill development and vocational training programmes according to their area of interest.
* Establish linkages with relevant agencies and institutions for further education, training, employment and rehabilitation opportunities.
5. Career Counselling & Placement Support
* Provide basic career counselling and guidance to residents based on their interests, skills and career aspirations.
* Identify suitable employment and placement opportunities for trained residents.
* Develop linkages with agencies, employers and organizations that can support residents in obtaining employment or livelihood opportunities after completion of training.
6. Discipline & Reporting
* Maintain a supportive and respectful environment within Garima Greh.
* Report any misconduct, serious behavioural issues or other concerns involving residents to the Project Manager.
* Maintain necessary records and reports related to educational, training, counselling, placement and other activities.
* Undertake any other duties related to the objectives of Garima Greh as assigned by the Project Manager.

Recruitment Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Graduate from a recognized institution.
* Experience in education, community work, counselling, skill development, social work or working with marginalized communities will be preferred.
* Experience of working with transgender persons or other vulnerable/marginalized communities will be an added advantage.
* Knowledge & Skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work sensitively and respectfully with transgender residents.
* Understanding of education, life skills, vocational training and career development.
* Ability to coordinate with schools, vocational training institutes, Government and Non-Government Organizations.
* Good networking, counselling and community mobilization skills.
* Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and coordinate multiple activities.

Salary / Remuneration
15,000/- per month
Preference
Preference will be given to Transgender candidates.
Candidates from the transgender community who meet the prescribed educational and other requirements are encouraged to apply.
Reporting
The Bridge Course Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and will work in coordination with the Garima Greh team, residents, educational institutions, vocational training institutes, Government and Non-Government Organizations and other relevant stakeholders.
