District Coordinator

• Plan, implement, and monitor the construction of climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure in accordance with project objectives, donor requirements, and WaterAid India standards.
• Ensure Project objectives and targets are met effectively within timelines.
• Lead, manage, and motivate the team; create an environment that enables staff to maximize their potential and facilitate a high-performing team.
• Conduct regular periodic review meetings with the team to ensure effective service delivery is as per schedule.
• Lead and guide technical team members in infrastructure planning through technical estimations, engineering drawings and designs) and implementation of infrastructure components as per project plan.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure quality, compliance and timely delivery of WASH infrastructure activities.
• Preparation of monthly updates and brief reports as required. Periodic reporting of progress to line manager and PMU (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual) as per the donor /WAI requirement.
• Adhere to technical standards, technical guidelines, project processes and organizational policies applicable to the project. 

       b) Stakeholder engagement:

• Establish and maintain relationships with key district stakeholders to support project objectives and deliverables.
• Lead the planning and organization of state and district-level consultations, workshops, and conferences as required by the project.
• Collaborate with WaterAid’s communications team, through the line manager, to ensure effective documentation of project activities.
• Coordinate and engage regularly with sector stakeholders, local governments, and institutions in consultation with the line manager and PMU.
• Represent the project and its achievements at district-level networks and government meetings.
• Advocate for the scaling up of project outputs and successes to district-level authorities.
• Facilitate dialogue and joint planning with relevant government departments, PRIs, and development partners to strengthen and expand WASH interventions.  

       c)Technical support and capacity development:

• Support field teams in organizing capacity building trainings for various stakeholders, namely women, youth, PRI members, VWSC and SHG, on the operation and maintenance of WASH infrastructures.
• Support capacity building of women at district and mandal level through training on water quality testing using field test kits for better health outcomes.
• Support field team members in setting up project management systems in accordance with project plans and WAI/donor guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to technical and programme standards and quality. 

       d) Documentation management:

• Prepare high-quality reports for donors and stakeholders.
• Ensure the team uploads MIS data promptly and provide regular project updates.
• Validate reports and data and review progress through regular field visits.
• Support the Technical Officer in planning and implementing water and WASH infrastructure.
• Facilitate WAI project assessments, monitoring and quality assurance, donor visits, and audits. 

       e)Finance:

• Ensure financial deliverables committed under the project are met.
• Follow the procurement process and expenses and support first-round verification of bills.
• Consolidate and compile monthly reports with statements of verified bills.
• Ensure timely utilization of the project Budget and keep track of the variance.
• Support internal and external audit visits.  

• Post graduate Degree in one of the following: sociology/social work, rural development, community development, public health or equivalent.
• Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both written and oral, in Telugu, English & Hindi.
• Preference to Local people – Guntur and surroundings

• Experience in working closely with communities and community groups.
• Deep understanding of managing community livelihood or social enterprise projects.
• Experience in social art, public health or social marketing campaign.  

• At least three to five years in an NGO/ organization leading WASH project.
• Understanding of government flagship WASH-related schemes and programs.

• Ability to work comfortably in MS Word, Excel and Power point.
• Able to undertake basic analysis of data in excel pivots.
• Ability to travel independently in the field.
• Should be driven, motivated and be able to learn quickly and take responsibility.
