Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre Society (Society – Estd. 1988; Reg. No. S/20291/1989) is a national-level, children, youth and women-centric, community-based, non-profit service delivery organisation working with marginalised, vulnerable, destitute, deprived, trafficked, runaway and missing children, as well as marginalised women, youth and homeless people. Prayas originated in 1988 in response to the needs of homeless, street and working children and juveniles in Delhi, through the joint efforts of the Delhi Police, Delhi School of Social Work (University of Delhi) and Shramik Vidyapeeth (now Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India).Today, Prayas and its allied organisations have 789 co-workers working across 12 States and Union Territories, through 330 centres/units, directly serving approximately 45,000–50,000 beneficiaries every day.

About the Position
Prayas is seeking a committed Social Worker to support its community-based child protection work in Namsai District.The position will involve regular field engagement with children, families, communities, Gram Panchayats, schools, frontline workers and government stakeholders. The Social Worker will contribute to the prevention and response to child protection concerns, including child marriage, child trafficking, child labour, abuse, neglect, exploitation, missing/runaway children and other vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities
? Conduct regular field visits to villages and Gram Panchayats and engage with children, families and community members.
? Identify children and families vulnerable to child marriage, trafficking, child labour, abuse, neglect, exploitation and other protection risks.
? Support prevention and awareness activities on child rights, child protection, child marriage, trafficking, safe migration and related issues.
? Coordinate, where required, with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Police, Child Helpline, SJPU, schools, health services and other relevant stakeholders.
? Liaisoning with Gram Panchayats, Sarpanch/Mukhiya, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers and other key stakeholders.
? Assess the existence and functioning of Child Welfare and Protection Committees (CWPCs) and support their strengthening where required.
? Conduct community meetings, awareness programmes and other child protection activities.
? Coordinate with government departments, community institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
? Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rural Development, Development Studies, Child Development, Education or a related discipline.
? MSW or Master's degree in a relevant discipline will be an advantage.
? Relevant experience in child protection, child rights, community development, social work or NGO programmes will be preferred.
? Fresh graduates with strong communication and fieldwork skills may also apply.
