Job Title: Research Associate
Duration: 6 months
Job Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha
JobSummary
Sambodhi is looking for a candidate who will contribute to research and field-based activities related to livelihoods and watershed development, including data collection, analysis, documentation, and other research activities as required by the project. The ideal candidate should be based in Bhubaneswar, be proficient in Odia, and have an understanding of livelihoods and watershed-related development assignment. We are looking for a professional with a PGDM/MBA in Social Sciences/Economics/ Statistics/ Agriculture/ Rural Management/ Rural Development/Social Work atleast 1 to 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
Essential Functions
The candidate will perform the following key functions:
• Support research and project activities under the assignment.
• Planning and execution of field-based research and data collection activities.
• Collecting and cleaning data, analysis, and interpretation.
• Conduct quantitative data analysis using statistical software.
• Assist in preparing research outputs, reports, presentations, and other project documentation.
• Support literature reviews, secondary research, and synthesis of relevant information.
• Coordinate with field teams, stakeholders, and project team members as required.
• Contribute to monitoring and documentation of project activities.
• Undertake any other research and project-related responsibilities assigned by the project team.
• Coordinate with the clients and make regular visits to the client offices to gather and collate information.
• Visit multiple states, if required and mentioned by the research team

Desired profile
Education
Postgraduate degree in Rural Management, Social Sciences, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Economics, or related discipline
Experience
1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in Social Research & Advisory, Consulting or Monitoring & Evaluation domains
Personal Competencies
• Knowledge of Research, Evaluation, Data Analysis and related aspects
• Knowledge of livelihoods and watershed development
• Ability to operate effectively in teams
• Proficiency in Stata and SPSS for data management, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel extensively
• High level of involvement, engagement and ownership
• Strong time management skill and ability to prioritize
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation ability
• Excellent Verbal and written communication in Hindi, Odia and English.
