Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan (PSSS) invites applications from qualified and experienced Civil Engineering professionals for the position of Civil Engineer for its ongoing development projects.
Position Details
• Position: Civil Engineer
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the NGO/development sector
• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
• Sector Experience: Experience in watershed development, water conservation, rural infrastructure, natural resource management, or related development projects will be preferred.

Job Description (JD)
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for planning, design, estimation, implementation, supervision, and quality control of water conservation and rural infrastructure works. The position will involve field surveys, preparation of technical documentation, construction supervision, measurement and monitoring, and coordination with project teams and community institutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct technical surveys and site assessments for check dams, farm ponds, percolation tanks, recharge wells, water harvesting structures, and other watershed works.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, layouts, estimates, quantities, and cost calculations for project interventions.
• Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
• Maintain Measurement Books (MBs) and support preparation of work completion reports and technical documentation.
• Monitor construction quality and verify the appropriate use of materials at project sites.
• Provide technical support for the revival and restoration of traditional water bodies, including ponds, wells, and other local water-harvesting structures.
• Support groundwater monitoring and collection of water-level data for project planning and assessment.
• Provide technical guidance for promoting drip and sprinkler irrigation and other water-efficient agricultural practices.
• Coordinate with project teams, Pani Panchayats, community institutions, contractors, and local stakeholders for smooth implementation of works.
• Support community training and awareness activities on water conservation, rainwater harvesting, watershed management, and sustainable water use.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong technical knowledge of civil construction and water conservation structures
• Experience in surveying, estimation, BOQ, quantity calculation, and construction supervision
• Knowledge of watershed development and rural water infrastructure
• Ability to read and prepare technical drawings and layouts
• Experience in maintaining Measurement Books and technical documentation
• Strong field-level coordination and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Willingness to undertake regular field visits and work in rural project locations
• Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and AutoCAD, will be an advantage
