Field Coordinator - Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Program
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana
Organization Type: Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
Reporting To: Program Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Remuneration: 30,000 - 35,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.

Purpose of the Role:

The Field Coordinator will support the implementation of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Program in project-supported schools through direct classroom engagement and a co-teaching approach. The role focuses on strengthening foundational learning outcomes among children by facilitating activity-based learning, supporting teachers, developing teaching-learning materials, and promoting effective classroom practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Implementation
* Develop weekly and daily plans for FLN activities aligned with program goals.
* Facilitate literacy and numeracy learning experiences for children in the early grades.
* Adapt activities based on children's learning levels and classroom needs.
* Ensure regular and effective implementation of planned activities.

2. Classroom Facilitation and Co-Teaching
* Work collaboratively with teachers to conduct classroom sessions.
* Facilitate child-centered, activity-based learning experiences.
* Conduct small-group and individualized learning activities as needed.
* Encourage active participation and engagement of all children.
* Demonstrate effective classroom practices that support foundational learning.

3. Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) Development
* Develop and use low-cost, contextually relevant teaching-learning materials.
* Support the integration of TLMs into classroom instruction.
* Organize and maintain learning resources and classroom materials.

4. Learning Environment and Learning Corners
* Support the establishment and effective use of literacy, oral language, and numeracy learning corners.
* Ensure learning materials are accessible and regularly utilized.
* Encourage teachers to independently use and sustain learning corners.

5. Teacher Support
* Support teachers in planning and facilitating FLN activities.
* Model activity-based teaching strategies and classroom practices.
* Encourage teacher participation and ownership of FLN approaches.
* Build teacher confidence in implementing child-centred learning practices.

6. Documentation and Monitoring
* Maintain records of classroom activities and implementation progress.
* Track basic learning indicators and classroom observations.
* Document good practices, challenges, and lessons learned.
* Use observations and data to inform planning and program improvement.

7. Coordination and Communication
* Share regular updates and implementation progress with the Program Coordinator.
* Participate in review meetings, training sessions, and reflection processes.
* Coordinate with school stakeholders to ensure smooth program implementation.
* Seek technical guidance and support when required.

8. Professional Development
* Participate in capacity-building initiatives and learning opportunities.
* Reflect on classroom practices and identify areas for improvement.
* Continuously strengthen facilitation, planning, and classroom management skills.

Qualifications:
Essential
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Preferred:
* Postgraduate degree in Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.

Experience
* Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), primary education, or related education programs.
* Experience facilitating classroom-based, activity-oriented learning with young children.
* Experience working directly with teachers and supporting classroom processes.
* Experience working in government schools or low-resource educational settings is preferred.
* Experience in NGO or development sector education programs will be an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
* Strong understanding of FLN and child-centered pedagogical approaches.
* Ability to engage effectively with young children and teachers.
* Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Good planning, documentation, and organizational abilities.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Proficiency in Telugu (spoken and written) is essential.
* Working knowledge of English and basic computer skills are desirable.

Working Conditions:
* Six-day work week.
* Regular travel to project-supported schools within the assigned area.
* Willingness to spend significant time in classrooms supporting children and teachers.

* Functional and regularly used literacy and numeracy learning corners.
* Quality teaching-learning materials to support classroom learning.
* Timely documentation and reporting of program activities.
