India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works in coordination with government agencies to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to essential health services, including TB screening and diagnosis.

Role Purpose
The Integrating Tuberculosis into Primary Health Care (ITIPS) initiative aims to enhance TB integration within Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) services. In support of the 100-Day Health Campaign in Kanpur Nagar district, this initiative seeks to accelerate access to vital diagnostic services for underserved populations via Mobile Medical Units (MMUs).
The X-Ray Technician/Radiographer will be responsible for operating and managing portable X-ray equipment during health camps, ensuring quality imaging, patient safety, proper documentation, and smooth coordination with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Radiographic unit / X-Ray & Equipment Management
- Operation, transportation, and safekeeping of the portable X-ray unit within the MMU.
- Regular monitoring of equipment and supplies; ensuring machines are maintained and functional.
- Coordinating with stakeholders for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and managing corrective/preventive maintenance if required
- Performing X-rays using surgical and portable equipment.
- Properly labelling all radiographic images.
Patient Care
- Provide pre-procedure guidance and explain the X-ray process to patients.
- Address patient queries professionally and sensitively.
- Assist patients with positioning, lifting, or movement when required.
- Follow all applicable radiation safety and patient safety protocols.
Data & Reporting
Field Operations & Coordination
- Working closely with the healthcare team to ensure smooth camp operations.
- Adhering to schedules for work, breaks, and travel.
- Executing additional program-related tasks as assigned by management.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as an X-Ray Technician/Radiographer.
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital documentation.
- Candidates with higher qualifications (Graduate or above) will be preferred.
- Prior experience in public health camps, community healthcare, or similar community-based settings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure in field environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to community engagement.
- Physically fit and comfortable with extensive field travel within the districts.
