Position: Social Media & Marketing Executive

Location: Kolkata

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, proactive, and energetic Social Media & Marketing Executive who can independently manage our social media presence while also supporting business development and corporate outreach.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both on-site and in the field—capturing photographs and videos of our products, training activities, events, and artisans, editing the content, and creating engaging posts and reels for various social media platforms. The person will also be responsible for identifying and building relationships with corporates, institutions, and potential clients in and around Kolkata to generate product orders and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Management

- Manage and maintain the organization's social media pages, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Plan and create regular social media content, including posts, stories, reels, videos, and promotional creatives.
- Develop content that effectively highlights our products, women artisans, vocational training initiatives, events, and organizational activities.
- Maintain a content calendar and ensure timely posting.
- Monitor engagement, audience response, and social media performance.

2. Photography & Videography

- Visit training centres, production units, exhibitions, events, and other locations to capture photographs and videos.
- Take attractive product photographs and short-form videos suitable for social media and promotional materials.
- Capture behind-the-scenes content, testimonials, interviews, workshops, and stories of artisans/beneficiaries.
- Proactively identify opportunities for interesting and meaningful content.

3. Designing & Video Editing

- Create professional and visually appealing creatives using Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
- Edit photographs for social media, catalogues, promotional materials, and other communication requirements.
- Edit short videos and reels using appropriate video-editing software/apps.
- Ensure consistency in branding, colours, fonts, logos, and overall visual presentation.
- Prepare promotional creatives for exhibitions, campaigns, festivals, product launches, and other events.

4. Corporate Outreach & Business Development

- Identify and approach potential corporates, companies, institutions, schools, organizations, and other prospective clients in and around Kolkata.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate contacts for product sales, bulk orders, gifting requirements, exhibitions, and collaborations.
- Introduce and promote the organization's products and initiatives to prospective clients.
- Follow up with leads and maintain regular communication through calls, emails, WhatsApp, and meetings.
- Explore opportunities for corporate gifting, bulk orders, customized products, exhibitions, and institutional partnerships.
- Maintain a database of prospective and existing corporate clients and regularly update the status of leads and follow-ups.

5. Field Visits & Event Support

- Travel locally for product shoots, events, exhibitions, corporate meetings, and promotional activities.
- Provide marketing and social media support during exhibitions and organizational events.
- Coordinate with internal teams to collect information, photographs, videos, product details, and stories for promotional purposes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Graduate degree or relevant qualification in Marketing, Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Media, or a related field preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of photo and video editing is essential.
- Good understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
- Basic knowledge of photography and videography.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging captions and promotional content.
- Good networking, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable making calls, meeting new people, and visiting different locations for business development.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to travel locally within Kolkata and nearby areas.
