Job Description: District Coordinator – Baksa (Assam)
Location: Baksa District of Assam
Duration: Initial 1 year, renewable based on performance and funding
Reports to: Program Manager
Compensation: 3.7 LPA, based on skills and experience
About the Organization:
Vikramshila Education Resource Society, a non-profit organization established in 1989, is dedicated to enhancing school education, particularly early childhood education, literacy, numeracy, and primary and secondary learning. With a focus on curricular and co-curricular areas, Vikramshila works with state systems to drive curricular reform, resource development, capacity building, and on-the-ground model creation for strategic, demonstration, and scaling initiatives. Headquartered in Kolkata, Vikramshila operates field offices in Lucknow, Guwahati, Pune and Ranchi, impacting schools, Anganwadi centres, madrasas, and community learning centres across West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
Key Responsibilities:
- District-Level Planning & Coordination with stakeholders
- Organize and facilitate training sessions for CDPOs and Supervisors.
- Monitor effectiveness of capacity-building activities through follow-ups and feedback.
- Ensure the wide dissemination of remote learning videos through district and block-level WhatsApp groups.
- Identify and support establishment of model Hub Anganwadi Centres in each sector.
- Guide AWWs on activity corner setup, child development milestones, and school readiness.
- Plan for sectoral hub replication with CDPOs and supervisors.
- Institutionalize monthly ECCE Day activities as per MWCD guidelines with support of CDPO and supervisors.
- Facilitate quarterly child assessments.
- Support sector-wise data analysis and use of insights in supervisory reviews.
- Lead preparation of case studies, testimonials, video stories, and impact assessments.
- Organize state-level knowledge sharing workshops and prepare learning documents.
- Monitor teaching practices, resource usage, and child engagement quality.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Public Health or any social science subject or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the development sector, preferably in early childhood care, development and education.
- Experience in program implementation, training, and stakeholder coordination and familiarity with Government systems, Anganwadi setup, and early childhood development policies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and facilitation skills (written and verbal). Speaking and reading fluency in Assamese is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
- Comfortable with extensive field travel within the district.
