I. Introduction
Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI)?is a resource organization committed to improving the overall quality of life in rural and tribal regions across the Central India belt, spanning the states of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Established in 2007 as an associate organization of Tata Trusts, CInI has pioneered several scalable and impactful programs across key thematic areas—Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WaSH), Education, Sports, Primary Healthcare & Nutrition. Our initiatives are aligned with the?Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030?and have been recognised on national and international platforms.
CInI anchors its work in community institutions, women’s collectives, and frontline workers. In partnership with CSOs and State Governments, we leverage technology, and robust processes to deliver sustainable, scalable impact—powered by 300+ development professionals across implementation geographies.
II. Job Purpose:
The State Education Programme Anchor will provide strategic and technical leadership to strengthen CInI's education portfolio in Gujarat. The position will support the quality and effectiveness of the existing education programme in Sabarkantha and Banaskantha, while using programme learning and evidence to develop and scale relevant education interventions across other CInI clusters. The Anchor will strengthen foundational learning, teacher capacity building, school leadership, assessment and learning outcomes, build institutional linkages with DIET, GCERT and relevant government departments, and ensure alignment with NEP 2020, NCF and NIPUN Bharat. The position will also proactively map and mobilise relevant technical, academic, institutional and financial resources to address programme requirements and build partnerships for scale.
III. Key Accountabilities
• Provide strategic and technical guidance to the SK/BK education programme and mentor programme teams to improve implementation quality and learning outcomes.
• Develop & strengthen approaches for foundational learning, teacher capacity building, classroom practices, school leadership, SMC strengthening and assessment of learning outcomes.
• Design/review training and capacity-building interventions and support effective training, mentoring, handholding and follow-up of teachers, school leaders and programme teams.
• Strengthen systems for baseline, periodic assessment, learning-level tracking and use of evidence for programme improvement.
• Develop and maintain linkages with DIET, GCERT, education departments, academic institutions and other relevant stakeholders for technical support, convergence and sustainability.
• Ensure education interventions are aligned with NEP 2020, NCF, NIPUN Bharat and relevant government priorities.
• Undertake systematic resource mapping at state, district and cluster levels, covering government institutions, academic and technical organisations, experts, universities, NGOs, CSR/philanthropic organisations and other relevant resources.
• Identify programme gaps and proactively bring in, connect and engage appropriate resources wherever technical expertise, training, content, assessment, technology, research, innovation or other support is required.
• Build and maintain a resource/partner network and database and facilitate meaningful engagement of identified institutions and experts with CInI programmes.
• Capture programme learning, innovations, evidence and good practices and facilitate cross-learning and knowledge sharing across CInI clusters.
• Use learning to identify and develop appropriate education interventions for other CInI geographies, including Dahod, Halol and future clusters.
• Scan emerging opportunities in ECCE, foundational learning, skill and youth development, government priorities, partnerships and funding, and support development of relevant concepts/proposals.
• Represent CInI in relevant education forums and contribute to strengthening CInI's visibility, partnerships and positioning in the education sector.
IV. Eligibility and requirements
• Education: Master’s degree in education, Social Sciences, Development Management, Rural Development, Public Policy or related discipline.
Experience:
• 10+ years of relevant experience in education, development sector, CSR or social sector programme management.
• Strong experience in government school education, teacher capacity building, programme management and learning outcomes/assessment.
• Experience of working with DIET, GCERT, education departments or other government institutions will be preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships, mobilise technical resources and work with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in Gujarat and familiarity with the state education ecosystem will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, facilitation, mentoring, documentation and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel to programme locations.
Skills, Competencies and Experience:
• Good Communication & documentation skills
• Good working knowledge of Marathi, Hindi, and English
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
