Programme Associate – M&E (Entry-Level)

About UTMT Society:
Under The Mango Tree Society (UTMTS) is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation that offers beekeeping with indigenous bees to small farmers for enhancing their agriculture through improved pollination. Since pollination is key to any type of fruit production, the presence of bee boxes on a smallholder’s farm improves crop yield significantly. The vision of the organisation is to provide beekeeping as an agriculture input to small and marginal farmers to increase their yields and income; create livelihood opportunities along the beekeeping value chain; and protect and enhance the local population of indigenous honey bees by increasing awareness of their role in the preservation of the ecosystem and encouraging bee-friendly agriculture practices. About the role:
This is an entry-level role for someone starting or early in an M&E career. You will work closely with the M&E team and state teams, and learn the full survey-to-report cycle on the job. It is not suited to senior or managerial candidates.
What you will do:
- Make sure key agricultural data is collected regularly, and analyse it.
- Help plan and run baseline and endline surveys, then clean the data, analyse it and write the reports.
- Compile and analyse MIS data from the state teams.
- Help develop questionnaires and data collection formats.
- Contribute to developing technology tools for better monitoring and evaluation.
- Prepare presentations that show the programme’s impact.
Must have
- Graduate or post-graduate degree, preferably in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Data Science, Statistics, Agriculture or a related field.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in surveys, data cleaning or data analysis. Internships and academic projects count.
- Intermediate or advanced MS Excel; basic MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear report-writing and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English and Hindi (read, write, speak).
- Willingness to travel to the field for at least 10 days every month, including to rural areas.
Good to have
- Working knowledge of Marathi or Gujarati.
- Experience with any survey tools or statistical software.
You will fit well if you are a team player, a keen learner, and comfortable with regular field travel.
