Job Title: Finance Head
Organization: Safa Baitul Maal
Work Location: Head Office, Malakpet (Hyderabad)
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Summary of Position:

Safa Baitul Maal (SBM) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Finance Head to oversee and manage the organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will ensure sound financial management, legal compliance, and effective budgeting for ongoing and future projects. This role involves strategic planning, implementing financial policies, and maintaining transparency in line with SBM’s mission and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting
• Implement and maintain financial systems, controls, and procedures in accordance with SBM's Finance Manual.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts for existing and proposed projects.
• Monitor and analyze budget utilization and provide periodic financial insights to project teams.
• Generate timely and accurate financial reports, including:
o Receipts and Payments Account
o Income and Expenditure Account
o Balance Sheet
o Donor-specific financial reports

• Develop and maintain cash flow management systems, including liquidity planning.
• Prepare periodic Investment Status Reports and ensure effective fund management.

2. Compliance & Legal
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including:
o FCRA
o Income Tax (including TDS)
o 80G, 12A certifications
o Employee Provident Fund, Gratuity, Professional Tax

• Coordinate with statutory auditors for the preparation and finalization of annual accounts.
• Represent SBM during income tax audits, FCRA scrutiny, and other legal proceedings as required.
• Ensure timely deductions and deposits of taxes at source in compliance with prevailing laws.
• Ensure timely statutory filings and regulations compliances i.e. Income Tax, TDS, GST, PF, ESI, etc.

3. Contract Management & Administration
• Draft and review agreements with partners, vendors, and suppliers; ensure compliance with terms and organizational standards.
• Maintain donor-wise project documentation and administrative records.
• Support and maintain appropriate documentation for audit readiness.

4. Leadership & Coordination
• Lead the accounts team, provide guidance and delegate responsibilities as needed.
• Convene finance committee meetings, maintain minutes, and report key outcomes to the Board of Trustees (BOT).
• Develop and update financial procedures to align with organizational goals and evolving regulatory requirements.

5. Monitoring & Controls
• Oversee monthly monitoring of project budgets and actual expenditures.
• Ensure proper controls for all cash and bank transactions.

Any Other Duties
• Perform any other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by CEO time to time in the best interest of the organization.

Education Qualification:
• Master’s degree (MBA) in Finance, Chartered Accountant (CA), or related qualification is required.

Experience & Skill Set:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of FCRA, Income Tax, 12A/80G, and other statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in financial software, MS Excel and business intelligence software.

Remuneration:
• Salary will be between ?60,000 and ?65,000 per month, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
