Role: Research Associate, Energy & Environment Policy.
Location: Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Contract: Full-Time (12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension)

We are seeking a Research Associate to work in energy and environment policy research
for an independent initiative based out of Andhra Pradesh.

Core Responsibilities:
• Conduct primary and secondary research on national and sub-national energy,
environment and climate policies.
• Monitor, track, and analyse regulatory, policy, and industry developments.
• Actively engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including government
and industry, across the research areas.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support research.
• Drafting research outputs, draft commentary for regulatory platforms, and developing
presentations for dissemination.
• Participate in policy conferences and assist with essential project management,
including organising meetings and field activities.

Required Competencies:
• Capable of self-managing and conducting research independently.
• Ability to analyse policy documents and data related to research areas and produce
clear and concise policy insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Telugu are mandatory.
• Understanding of the national and sub-national energy/environment landscape,
climate policy, and state-level institutional structures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant data analysis tools.
Familiarity with data visualization tools is an added benefit.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.
• Creative, open-minded, eager to learn/unlearn, equipped with a good sense of humour
and is self-critical.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Master's degree in a relevant field (Public Policy, Social Sciences, Energy/Climate
Policy, or Development Studies preferred).
• 2 - 3 years of post-qualification experience within a research think tank, civil society
organization or policy research.
• Knowledge of macroeconomic and policy landscape of Andhra Pradesh or working
experience with the Government of Andhra Pradesh is a significant advantage.
