Job Description
 
Position: Associate– Research & Knowledge Management (Natural Farming)
 
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
 
Travel Requirement: Minimum 10 days per month across Gujarat
 
Experience: 0–2 years
 
Reports to: Program Lead – Natural Farming / Agroecology
 
About the Role
The Associate – Research & Knowledge Management will support documentation, research, and learning processes related to Natural Farming initiatives across Gujarat. The role involves working closely with network organisations, field teams, farmers, and partner institutions to capture grassroots innovations, document learnings, and strengthen knowledge systems around agroecology and natural farming practices.
The position will be based in Ahmedabad and will require regular travel to program locations across Gujarat.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Research & Documentation:
  • Support field-based research on Natural Farming practices and agroecological farming models.
  • Document case studies, farmer transition journeys, best practices, and grassroots innovations.
  • Assist in preparing thematic documentation on soil health, bio-inputs, cropping systems, seed systems, and biodiversity.
  • Support preparation of program reports, research briefs, and learning notes with the support of Scientists associated with the organisation. 
2. Knowledge Management
  • Support development and maintenance of a structured knowledge repository related to Natural Farming.
  • Compile and organise field documentation including case studies, photos, videos, and farmer narratives.
  • Assist in creating knowledge products such as infographics, field guides, and simple technical notes.
3. Learning & Capacity Building:
  • Support development of training materials and learning modules on Natural Farming practices.
  • Assist in documenting training programs, demonstrations, and farmer learning events.
  • Contribute to development of content for digital learning platforms and knowledge dissemination initiatives.
4. Engagement with Network Organisations:
  • Work closely with network organisations and grassroots partners implementing Natural Farming programs.
  • Travel to partner locations to document field experiences, innovations, and learnings.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange between partner organisations and field practitioners.
  • Support coordination of exposure visits, workshops, and reflection meetings with partner organisations.
Educational Qualification:
  • MSc/BSc/BRS / MRS/ in Agriculture (Background or exposure to Natural Farming / Agroecology will be an added advantage).
Experience
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in agriculture, agroecology, rural development, or research/documentation related work.
  • Fresh graduates with strong interest in Natural Farming and field engagement are encouraged to apply. 
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Basic understanding of Natural Farming / sustainable agriculture concepts.
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  • Ability to engage with farmers, grassroots practitioners, and partner organisations.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Gujarat.
  • Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of Gujarati and English is preferred.
