About the Project
The project focuses on strengthening prevention, early detection, and management of Haemoglobinopathy through community awareness, screening, and linkage to care services at the grassroots level.

Position Summary
The Block Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities at the block level. The role requires close coordination with health systems, community stakeholders, and program teams to ensure effective rollout of Sickle cell and Thalassemia related interventions.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate implementation of Haemoglobinopathy screening and awareness activities at block & sub-block level level
• Support organization of screening camps, school/college outreach, and community mobilization
• Liaise with government health officials (Medical Officer, ANM, ASHA, Lab Technicians)
• Ensure timely identification, referral, and follow-up of suspected and diagnosed cases
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of project activities
• Monitor field-level implementation and provide supportive supervision
• Conduct training/orientation sessions for frontline workers and stakeholders
• Ensure quality data collection and timely reporting to district/state teams
• Facilitate community engagement and IEC/BCC activities
• Support supply chain tracking of testing kits and materials
• Coordinate or undertake any other project related activities as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Life Sciences, Social Work, or related field is required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in public health programs (preferably at field/block level)
• Experience in community-based health programs, screening initiatives, or NCD programs is desirable
• Knowledge of anemia, genetic disorders, or thalassemia will be an advantage

• Coverage of targeted facilities and areas for monitoring, training and IEC activities
• Facilitate training and meetings with health officials, frontline workers and other stakeholders
• Data collection and collation
• Participation in project review meetings

Salary & Contract
• Salary: As per experience and organizational norms
• Contract Type: Fixed-term for 11 months (extendable based on performance and project duration)
