Field Officer
Location: Karchana | Employment Type: Full-Time | Reports to: Block Program Coordinator

ABOUT SOL'S ARC
Sol’s ARC is a registered NGO working to ensure that every child learns and every adult earns through inclusive education and livelihood opportunities. For over 20 years, we have worked with persons with disabilities, mental illness, critical illness, and those affected by violence to ensure equitable access to education and economic opportunity.
Over the years, our work has evolved from direct implementation to systems-level partnerships with state governments and leading organisations across India. Through a lifespan approach, we work toward our vision: Every Child Learns, Every Adult Earns. Our growth over the last several years has enabled us to expand our reach from a few thousand individuals to over 4 million beneficiaries.
This role sits within Sol’s ARC’s programme implementation function and is central to ensuring strong last-mile execution of our community-based education work. The Field Officer plays a vital on-ground role in building relationships, supporting communities, coordinating programme activities, and ensuring that implementation is both responsive and effective.

THE ROLE
This is a hands-on, field-based role for a Field Officer who will support the on-ground implementation of Sol’s ARC’s community-based education programme. You will work directly with schools, communities, Panchayat members, local stakeholders, and partner organisations to ensure that programme activities are delivered effectively and that intended education outcomes are achieved.
You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, data collection, reporting, field coordination, and programme facilitation. This role demands someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable working in dynamic field settings — someone who can build trust with communities, manage responsibilities independently, and represent Sol’s ARC with professionalism and care.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME
Approximately:
35% – Stakeholder Engagement & Community Mobilisation
25% – Program Facilitation & Field Implementation
20% – Data Collection, Reporting & Documentation
20% – Coordination, Field Visits & Local Follow-ups

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
Stakeholder Engagement & Community Mobilisation
Building and nurturing strong relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, Panchayat members, schools, partner organisations, and other key stakeholders.
Representing Sol’s ARC in meetings, workshops, and local events, while clearly and professionally communicating the objectives of the programme.
Working closely with stakeholders to assess community needs, identify available resources, and support the development of practical implementation strategies.
Mobilising local communities to actively participate in programme activities and strengthening community ownership of project goals.
Encouraging sustained involvement from local stakeholders to improve the reach, relevance, and effectiveness of programme interventions.

Program Facilitation & Field Implementation
Supporting the implementation of community-based education programme activities in the field in alignment with agreed plans and timelines.
Facilitating meetings, discussions, and programme interventions with community members and local stakeholders.
Conducting regular field visits to observe programme implementation, identify challenges, and provide actionable feedback for improvement.
Coordinating district-level activities to ensure smooth execution and alignment with programme goals, strategies, and available resources.
Collaborating with the project management team to support the implementation of project plans and timelines on the ground.

Data Collection, Reporting & Documentation
Overseeing the collection of accurate and timely data related to programme activities, community profiles, and field-level outcomes.
Maintaining updated records and ensuring that field data is reliable, well-organised, and relevant for programme review.
Preparing and sharing regular updates and reports on project progress, implementation challenges, and key outcomes.
Supporting documentation of learnings, observations, and progress from field activities to strengthen programme quality and accountability.

Coordination & Local Follow-up
Following up regularly with schools, community members, and stakeholders to ensure programme continuity and responsiveness.
Helping address implementation issues in a timely and constructive manner during field activities.
Ensuring that local coordination is strong and that communication flows effectively between the field and programme teams.
Supporting any additional field-level coordination required to strengthen programme delivery and stakeholder participation.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Strong and trusted relationships with schools, communities, Panchayat members, and local stakeholders.
Programme activities implemented effectively on the ground and aligned with project goals and timelines.
Communities that are actively engaged and increasingly invested in project participation.
Accurate, timely, and well-maintained data and documentation from the field.
Clear and consistent reporting on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Field issues identified early and addressed proactively, helping improve programme implementation over time.

WHAT'S HARD ABOUT THIS ROLE
Managing field-level implementation across multiple stakeholders, each with different expectations, constraints, and working styles.
Maintaining accurate data and reporting while also handling a high level of community engagement and travel.
Working in dynamic community settings where plans may need to adapt quickly based on local realities.
Building trust and momentum in the field while staying organised, professional, and deadline-driven.
Balancing independence with coordination, especially in situations that require quick judgment and follow-through.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
The work you do directly shapes how effectively Sol’s ARC’s programmes reach children, families, and communities.
You help translate programme design into meaningful on-ground action that improves educational access and participation.
You will be a key bridge between Sol’s ARC and the communities we serve, helping ensure that our work remains practical, responsive, and rooted in local realities.
Your contribution will support stronger implementation, better partnerships, and deeper community ownership of programme outcomes.
