About Room to Read
Room to Read India was established in 2003 and currently operates across eleven states: Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
Room to Read is a global organization committed to transforming the lives of children in low-income communities through literacy and gender equality in education. Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, the organization focuses on deep, systemic transformation at two critical stages of a child’s education—early primary years for foundational literacy and secondary education for girls.
Working in close partnership with governments, communities, and local organizations, Room to Read strengthens education systems by building literacy skills and enabling girls to complete secondary education with the skills required to make informed life decisions.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Room to Read has reached over 32 million children across 21 countries.
There is a continued emphasis on strengthening a connected, collaborative, and values-driven workforce aligned to its CARES values—Collaboration, Action, Respect, Education, and Scale.
Background of the Projects
As part of the CARES Awards 2026 Offsite, Room to Read India is curating a set of immersive and engaging learning experiences for its staff. The offsite serves as a platform to bring teams together, strengthen relationships, and reinforce the behaviours required for the next phase of organizational growth.
In this context, two experiential workshops are being designed to focus on how teams work together and how individuals contribute to shaping a positive and enabling work environment.
These sessions are intended to move beyond traditional learning formats and create shared experiences that are engaging, high-energy, and insight-driven, enabling participants to reflect, connect, and translate learning into everyday practice.
Workshop Details and Rationale
A. Workshop 1: “All In: The Team Game”
We are seeking an experienced facilitator or organization to design and deliver a 1.5-hour experiential workshop centred on strengthening team effectiveness and collective performance.
This session will focus on how teams align, communicate, and collaborate to achieve shared outcomes. Through structured activities and simulations, participants will experience the dynamics of teamwork in action and reflect on what enables or hinders effective collaboration.
Rationale:
As teams operate across functions and geographies, the ability to work seamlessly together becomes critical. This workshop is intended to strengthen alignment, build trust, and reinforce shared accountability across teams.
B. Workshop 2: “It Starts With Us”
We are seeking a facilitator or organization to design and deliver a 1.5-hour experiential workshop focused on strengthening individual awareness and behaviours that shape team culture.
The session will explore how everyday actions influence team dynamics, trust, and inclusion. Through interactive exercises and guided reflection, participants will build a deeper understanding of their role in creating a positive and respectful work environment.

Organizational culture is shaped through individual behaviours. This workshop aims to build awareness and ownership, enabling employees to contribute consciously to a culture that is inclusive, respectful, and enabling.
