About the Project
The Centre for Behavioural Sciences, set up under partnership of IIHMR University and UNICEF Rajasthan, is a pioneer hub for behavioural science research and practical applications. It will work hand-in-hand with government and diverse stakeholders to shape evidence-based policies and implementation strategies for promoting sustainable and inclusive development in Rajasthan. By collaborating with CSOs, CSR initiatives, corporations, academic institutions, and research organizations, the Centre for Behaviour Sciences activates holistic strategies to address intricate societal challenges, nurturing lasting advancements throughout the region.
 
Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with pioneer Centre for Behavioural Sciences. The State Program Manager – CBS will support the State CBS lead in leading the efforts to create value of Behavioural Insights within State, District through advocacy, insights generation, intervention design and showcase of these successes. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
Liaison and Relationship Building:
  • Work closely with the State CBS lead to develop lasting relationships with government entities, and other stakeholders fostering evidence-based decision-making through behavioural science
  • Develop strategies to raise awareness about the importance of behavioural insights in addressing development issues and garner support for the Centre's initiatives.
  • Identify behavioural science prospects within current government projects and programs, generating new project ideas through proposal development and coordinate for implementation of innovative pilot projects.
  • Create content to enhance the visibility of the Centre for Behavioural Sciences across various platforms, including public information, social and digital media.
  • Coordinate and participate in advocacy campaigns, coordinated events to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing with various stakeholders including BIU networks.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research in qualitative and quantitative methods, behavioural science, psychology, economics, and international development, utilizing findings to influence project direction.
Project Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement research design, integrating qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to identify critical behavioural patterns and decision-making processes aimed at generating insights for addressing a behavioural issue.
  • Develop research protocols/tools. Ensuring adherence to research and ethical standards.
  • Strategize, execute field data collection and oversee the implementation of interventions at ground level.
  • Collate insights and contribute to intervention development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of pilot projects, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for scaling up successful interventions.
Stakeholder Engagement and capacity enhancement:
  • Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders on behavioural science initiatives, fostering collaboration and buy-in of various stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in design and delivery of training programs to enhance understanding and application of behavioural insights among various stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to project staff and partners on behavioural science methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Communication and Documentation:
  • Support the preparation of internal and external reports, presentations, and other communication materials related to behavioural science projects and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, contributing to the documentation and dissemination of best practices and success stories.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Head CBS
Qualifications and Experience:
  • PhD or Master’s degree in Behaviour Science, Social Psychology, Behaviour Economics or related fields.
  • Experience of working with government departments on communication and programme strategies, policies for about 5-7 years. Strong understanding of government systems, at the state and district level.
  • Strong baseline understanding of experimental research, data-driven decision making, applying behavioural insights, and field implementation. Experience in applied behavioural science, within Indian context is desirable.
  • Proven record of successfully managing end-to-end projects, from initiation to closure.
  • Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, especially government stakeholders. Know how to build and manage relationships with them, collaborate and work with them.
  • Understand Rajasthan’s context through lived experience.
  • Currently based, or willing to relocate to Jaipur.
