About the Organization
Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) is a Varanasi-based NGO working for the development of marginalized and underprivileged communities, particularly women, children, Scheduled Castes, and persons with disabilities. The organization implements programs in disability rehabilitation, women empowerment, community health, WASH, livelihood promotion, and youth skill development.

Position Summary
The accountant-cum-Cashier will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the financial records of the organization and its projects, ensuring proper documentation of transactions, and supporting financial compliance with donor and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
? Maintain books of accounts including cash book, bank book, and ledgers.
? Record project-related financial transactions in the accounting system.
? Prepare and maintain payment, receipt, and journal vouchers with proper supporting documents.
? Handle cash transactions and ensure proper petty cash management.
? Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
? Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
? Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audit and reporting.
? Assist in the preparation of financial reports and support internal and external audits.
? Ensure compliance with organizational financial procedures and donor guidelines.

Qualification and Experience
? Bachelor’s degree in commerce (B. Com) or equivalent.
? Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
? Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Tally) and MS Office.
Reporting
The accountant-cum-Cashier will report to the Finance Officer / HoD – Finance & Administration.
Salary
?12,000 – ?20,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Working Hours
9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, six days a week.
