Role Overview
Chennai Liver Foundation is seeking a Fundraising (FR) Manager – Corporate & Family
Philanthropy to anchor and grow its CSR and U/HNI fundraising portfolio from Chennai.
This role will be responsible for managing and expanding corporate and family philanthropy
partnerships, driving donor retention, leading pitch conversations, and strengthening internal
fundraising systems and processes.
The FR Manager will work closely with the CEO, Dr. Vivekanandan Shanmugam to implement
strategy, set account-level targets, improve donor governance systems, and mentor junior team
members.
Key Responsibilities
1. CSR & U/HNI Account Ownership
? Serve as the primary owner of CSR and U/HNI donor accounts.
? Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate and U/HNI partners.
? Lead pitching conversations and donor meetings with prospective partners.
? Review account-level targets, trends, and donor feedback on a regular basis.
? Strengthen donor retention and reduce portfolio melt through proactive engagement.
2. Fundraising Strategy & Implementation
? Work closely with the FR Director on strategy implementation and target setting.
? Contribute to overall fundraising strategy and annual planning.
? Track donor ecosystem trends within CSR and U/HNI channels.
? Analyse current and past donor trends to improve retention and portfolio performance.
? Participate in key CSR and U/HNI forums, events, and networks representing Chennai
Liver Foundation.
3. Proposal Development & Business Alignment
? Review customised pitches and proposals prepared by FR Assistants.
? Ensure alignment with business development goals and risk considerations.
? Strengthen positioning and narrative quality across CSR and U/HNI proposals.
? Ensure donor expectations are aligned with organisational capabilities.
4. Compliance, Reporting & Governance
? Govern compliance and reporting routines of CSR accounts.
? Collaborate with Finance and Programme teams to ensure timely and accurate donor
reporting.
? Strengthen internal systems and process improvements for fundraising operations.
? Monitor documentation, reporting quality, and engagement timelines.
5. Employee Engagement & Donor Experience
? Plan and ideate CSR employee engagement opportunities.
? Design structured donor engagement journeys for corporate and U/HNI partners.
? Ensure high-quality stewardship and long-term relationship building.
6. Team Mentorship & Capacity Building
? Mentor FR Assistants on data collection, analysis, pitching, and proposal writing.
? Strengthen internal capability in donor research, trend analysis, and account
management.
? Support team members in improving quality, speed, and strategic alignment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
? At least 5 years of experience in CSR fundraising, business development, or corporate
partnerships.
? Experience working with U/HNIs and family philanthropies is strongly preferred.
? Strong understanding of India’s CSR ecosystem and philanthropic landscape.
? Demonstrated ability to manage donor portfolios and close partnerships.
? Strong analytical skills with ability to track trends and interpret donor data.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Strong stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
? Detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of managing multiple accounts
simultaneously.
