I. Introduction
Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI)?is a resource organization committed to improving the overall quality of life in rural and tribal regions across the Central India belt, spanning the states of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Established in 2007 as an associate organization of Tata Trusts, CInI has pioneered several scalable and impactful programs across key thematic areas—Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WaSH), Education, Sports, Primary Healthcare & Nutrition. Our initiatives are aligned with the?Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030?and have been recognised on national and international platforms.
CInI anchors its work in community institutions, women’s collectives, and frontline workers. In partnership with CSOs and State Governments, we leverage technology, and robust processes to deliver sustainable, scalable impact—powered by 300+ development professionals across implementation geographies.
II. Job Purpose:
To improve foundational numeracy outcomes among students in project schools by strengthening teaching-learning practices through academic support, teacher capacity building, mentoring, monitoring, and development of numeracy-focused learning resources. The role involves collaborating with teachers, academic institutions, government departments, and other stakeholders to effectively implement foundational numeracy interventions, support professional development, facilitate training and assessments, document best practices, and contribute to overall strengthening of the education system at block and district levels.
III. Key Accountabilities:
• Ensuring learning outcome improvement of targeted students in 100 Schools under the project, through working closely with the Teachers, Academic Resource Persons and other stakeholders to achieve Foundational Numeracy outcomes.
• Design and implement the setting up of Academic Resource Centres at CRC, BRC and DIET pertaining to the assigned districts.
• Develop teaching learning resources (TLRs), training modules and subject contents on the numeracy aspects in general and foundational numeracy, in particular.
• Work closely with primary school teachers for their continuous professional development in Foundational Numeracy aspects and facilitate their academic Leadership.
• Capacity building of team and regular field visit to provide monitoring and mentoring support to the field team, teachers and other stakeholders towards implementation of the project activities.
• Continuous documentation of the project processes on the assigned domain, especially in assessment and identify successful model of the Numeracy skill promotion and outcomes
• Facilitate joint training programs in collaboration with govt. departments. Coordinate and support in implementing training modules, assessment tools, training follow ups etc.
• Support in preparing training calendar and training implementation plan in convergence with the Department and theme lead
• Coordinate with the District/Block academic leadership, including DIET, BRC etc. for organizing regular review and monitoring meeting on implementation of the Foundational Numeracy aspects.
• Conduct periodic review meeting of the field team with specific emphasis on Foundational Numeracy promotion activities towards overall system strengthening at the block and district level.
• Plan and conduct necessary sharing and dissemination activities with the District/Block academic leadership and other stakeholders for promotion of Numeracy activities.
• Any other work as assigned from time to time.
IV. Eligibility and requirements
Education: Master’s Degree in Education/ Social Science or relevant academic streams.
Experience:
• At least 4 to 5 years of thematic and pedagogical leadership in the relevant field in the areas of teachers training, curriculum development, training module development, instructional material designing etc.
• Program implementation related engagements on thematic aspects with NGOs, Government Departments, Resource Agencies, Academic institutions on numeracy theme.
• Experience of working in system strengthening activity in collaboration with government will be an added advantage
Skills, Competencies and Experience:
• Passion to work with children, teachers and community.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and vernacular of the state
• Team player, good interpersonal skills, honest, self-motivated and sincere.
• Proficiency in MS OFFICE (word, Excel and Power point) is a must.
