Role overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Manager- Finance & Accounts/ Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance/accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach and commitment to the values and mission of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with applicable Accounting standards
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain register for Donations and Grants and ensure timely issuance of receipts
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders including preparation of donor wise fund utilisation at stipulated intervals
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing the annual budget.
• Collaborate with program managers to develop and monitor program budgets.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Develop and implement adequate financial controls to manage financial risks.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Oversee payroll processing and related compliance.
• Provide training and support to staff on financial matters.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
• Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
• Stay current with changes in nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• CA Inter or Master’s /Bachelor's degree in Commerce
• Minimum 5 years’work experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.Knowledge of Zoho books would be an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
• Experience with audit processes and managing external auditors.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
