SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB
The incumbent will be responsible for planning & implementation of the sponsorship/Child Centered Community Development (CCCD) project at the program unit area in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The CCCD project address various issues such as Inclusive Quality Education, Sexual & Reproductive Health & Rights, Gender-Based Violence, Health & Nutrition, Livelihood, Child Protection, Climate Change Awareness and Eco-Friendly Behaviour. It aims at creating a child friendly community through an enabling environment in the program area with the preventive care model of approach with the community. The PU Coordinator/PIU Coordinator will have to guide and train a team of Frontline Workers so that they are able to effectively implement the activities and coordinate with government service providers and government services. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring access to government schemes for the target group and their families.
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Overall planning and implementation of the program activities in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand
• Monthly planning and implementation of the sponsorship/CCCD program with Front Line Workers
• Liaison with various district and block level stakeholders for activity implementation and convergence of the activities
• Strengthening and capacity building of field staff on thematic areas
• Ensure that the program activities and progress are updated in the MIS.
• Ensure timely donor reporting in prescribed templates
• Spreading the program message to the community
• Making regular field visits in the program areas and support program teams in quality assurance in the program through trainings, handholding and providing them job-aids to facilitate their work
• Overall coordination with Plan-India funded programs in West Singbhum district
• Documentation and reporting of all activities
• Supportive supervision to all field level workers
• Monitoring of the budget vis-à-vis actual expenditure
• Ensuring adherence to PLAN approved duty matrix
• Overall coordination with State Project Lead in terms of admin, HR and program related work.
• Achieve the monthly activities as planned for the month
• Submission of MIS and other reports as required from time to time
• Submission of reports to donor agency at monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
• Any other work (need-based) assigned by the State Project Lead
ELIGIBILITY (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
• Master’s degree in Social Work/ Rural development/ Rural management/ Public Health/Development Studies/ Sociology or other relevant discipline from a recognized university
• Preference will be given to the candidates having the experience of working on child rights program and in close coordination with government system and having experience of managing multi thematic projects.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the development sector, preferably with reputed NGOs
• Demonstrated experience of handling multi-sectoral development programs at the district level
• Exposure to liaison with government and other stakeholders at district and block levels
• Prior experience of working in Jharkhand or some other state especially in a tribal dominated district will be an added advantage.
COMPETENCIES
• Documentation and Communication skills in English & Hindi
• Computer skills especially in MS Office (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
• Multi-stakeholder liaison and influencing skills (especially within the government systems)
