A. About GIZ India
B. Project Background
The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Germany has commissioned a project titled “Enabling Accessible, Sustainable, and Equitable (EASE) Mobility for All/ Gender in Green Mobility (GiGM)”. The technical cooperation project is part of Green Urban Mobility Partnership (GUMP) between India and Germany.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) shall be jointly implementing the EASE/GiGM project. The objective of the project is “Women, girls, and other marginalised groups are increasingly able to access and use public mobility services that are affordable, low-emission, and specifically tailored to their mobility needs.” The project will support the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and its implementation cities in integrating transport and gender considerations to promote a more gender-inclusive transport system.
C. Tasks and Responsibilities
Task 1: Support the baseline assessment of mobility-related data framework
- Support the understanding of existing mobility data ecosystem, mapping responsible institutions and planning requirements for relevant stakeholder groups within the selected project cities.
- Support in documentation for global and national digital initiatives relevant to the assignment.
- Support in systematic evaluation of existing mobility data ecosystem from technical, institutional, procedural and capacity dimensions.
- Management, dissemination, and storage of the synthesised information in technical and scientific manner.
- Support in conducting physical and online meetings related to the development of mobility-related data framework document.
- Support in documentation, presentation, preparation of minutes of meetings etc.
- Any other task assigned from time to time.
Task 3: Support the team with communication activities
- Support general communication and design.
D. Required Qualifications and Skills
- Candidates who are currently pursuing their graduation / postgraduation or have completed their degree within last six months are eligible to apply, in any of the following field:
- Urban/Transport Planning
- Data Science/Data Analytics
- Information Technology/Information System
- Development Studies
- Environmental Studies or a related discipline
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good analytical and organisational skills for mapping information.
- Ability to prepare presentations and convert technical information into clear, structured content.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.
Additional information:
- Competitive stipend.
- Interns will be responsible for arranging and bearing the cost of their own accommodation.
