Full Stack Developer & IT Support Officer

The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and improve the organization’s existing and future web portals and applications. The position will primarily focus on full stack software development, while also providing day-to-day IT support, including laptop configuration and formatting, troubleshooting, and IT asset/stock management.
2. Scope of Work and Responsibilities
A. Full Stack Development – Primary Responsibility
The Full Stack Developer & IT Support Officer will:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance the organization’s existing web portal(s) and applications.
• Develop new modules, features, dashboards, and functionalities based on organizational requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend applications and APIs using Node.js.
• Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize databases using PostgreSQL.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party services where required.
• Implement user authentication, authorization, roles, and access controls.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs, system errors, and performance issues.
• Optimize application performance and database queries.
• Maintain clean, secure, reusable, and well-documented source code.
• Use Git/version control for source-code management.
• Manage and monitor the organization’s existing portals.
• Maintain application and database backup and recovery procedures.
• Apply secure software-development practices and address identified vulnerabilities.
3. IT Support Responsibilities
In addition to software development responsibilities, the position will provide general IT support to organizational staff, including:
• Install, configure, format, and maintain laptops and desktop computers.
• Install operating systems, drivers, approved applications, antivirus/security software, and other required tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, operating system, software, printer, and basic network/connectivity issues.
• Prepare and configure laptops and computers for new employees.
• Back up required data and prepare devices for reassignment when employees leave or change roles.
• Provide first-level technical support to staff for common IT-related issues.
• Assist users with email, office applications, printers, browsers, and other organizational software.
• Coordinate with external vendors or service providers for hardware repairs or specialist IT support when required.
• Ensure organizational computers receive necessary software, operating system, and security updates.
• Maintain and regularly update the IT asset register.
• Record laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, networking equipment, storage devices, accessories, and other IT assets.
4. Key Deliverables
The key expected deliverables include:
• Stable, functional, and secure organizational web portal(s).
• Timely development and deployment of approved features and system improvements.
• Properly maintained Node.js backend, React.js/TypeScript frontend, Tailwind CSS interface, and PostgreSQL database.
• Timely resolution of application bugs and technical issues.
• Updated source code, system documentation, and database backups.
• Timely IT support to organizational employees.
• Properly configured and maintained laptops and computers.
• Accurate and up-to-date IT asset and stock records.
5. Required Technical Skills
The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:
• Backend: Node.js, REST APIs, authentication and authorization.
• Frontend: React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, responsive web development.
• Database: PostgreSQL, SQL, database design, optimization, backup, and restoration.
• Development Tools: Git/version control, debugging, testing, deployment, and API integration.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows/Linux operating systems, software installation, networking, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Linux server administration, Nginx, Docker, CI/CD, cloud hosting, DNS, SSL certificates, and application monitoring will be an advantage.
6. Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in full stack web application development.
• Demonstrated experience with Node.js, React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience maintaining and supporting production web applications.
• Experience with Git or similar version-control systems.
• Practical knowledge of laptop/desktop configuration, formatting, software installation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience maintaining IT equipment or asset inventories will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, communication, and time-management skills.
