SOOVA works through community-based approaches and partnerships with civil society Organisations, government institutions CSR agencies and other stakeholders to promote inclusive development, strengthen community systems and improve access to rights and opportunities. About the Position

SOOVA is inviting applications from committed and experienced development professionals for the position of Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will provide overall coordination and technical support for Livelihood (Livestock & Climate smart Agriculture) project implementation in Mayurbhanj district. The position will be responsible for ensuring effective planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, documentation and reporting of project activities, while maintaining close collaboration with project partners, community stakeholders and relevant government departments.


Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Coordination
• Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of project activities in accordance with approved plans, objectives and timelines.
• Coordinate with project staff, Donor agency and other stakeholders for smooth implementation.
• Prepare activity plans, schedules and implementation strategies.
• Ensure timely follow-up of project activities and milestones.
• Identify implementation challenges and facilitate appropriate solutions.

2. Partnership and Stakeholder Coordination
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with CSOs, government departments, community institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate coordination and collaboration among project partners.
• Support partner Organizations in planning and implementing project interventions.
• Represent SOOVA and the project in relevant meetings, consultations, workshops and forums.

3. Capacity Building
• Identify capacity-building needs of project staff, partner Organizations and community stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate training, orientation and learning sessions.
• Provide mentoring and technical support to staff and partners.
• Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing and good practices within the project.

4. Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting
• Monitor project progress against approved plans, indicators and expected results.
• Ensure systematic collection, verification and documentation of project data and evidence.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records.
• Prepare periodic narrative and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Document good practices, learning, case studies and project achievements.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
• Support implementation of project monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Track project indicators and milestones and identify areas requiring corrective action.
• Contribute to periodic reviews, reflection and learning processes.
• Use project data and evidence to support informed programme decisions.

6. Financial and Administrative Coordination
• Support activity budgeting and ensure implementation within approved budgets.
• Coordinate with the relevant team members for timely utilization and documentation of project resources.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements and agreed project procedures.

7. Communication and Representation
• Maintain effective communication with project staff, partners and stakeholders.
• Prepare presentations, briefs, reports and other communication materials as required.
• Represent the organisation professionally in meetings and external forums.
• Promote the values of inclusion, participation, accountability and integrity in all project activities.

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Rural Development, Sociology, veterinary Science, Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination/management, preferably in the development sector.
• Experience of working with civil society Organisations, community-based programmes and/or disability-inclusive development will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
• Experience in coordinating teams, partners and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of community-based and participatory approaches.
• Good knowledge of documentation, data management and report writing.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Odia. Knowledge of Hindi and/or local tribal languages will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the project area.

Experience-Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project coordination at Livelihood project. Having experience in livestock poultry goatery, Climate smart agriculture will be preferred.
