About the Organization: AROH Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to holistic rural development in the Mon of Nagaland District. Our mission is to empower local communities, preserve the environment, and enhance livelihoods through sustainable agriculture and other income-generating activities.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Agriculture cum Livelihood Expert to lead our efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture and livelihood development in the Mon of Nagaland District. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and monitoring agriculture and livelihood programs aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of rural communities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Agriculture and Livelihood Program Development:

• Lead the design and development of agriculture and livelihood programs aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
• Conduct needs assessments and market analyses to identify opportunities and challenges in the agriculture and livelihood sector.

2. Sustainable Agriculture Practices:

• Promote sustainable agricultural practices, including organic farming, crop diversification, soil conservation, and water management.
• Provide technical guidance and training to farmers on improved agricultural techniques and technologies.

3. Livelihood Diversification:

• Identify alternative livelihood opportunities for rural communities, including non- farm activities such as small-scale enterprise development, handicrafts, and tourism.
• Facilitate skills training and capacity-building programs to enhance income- generating opportunities for local residents.

4. Community Engagement and Participation:

• Build strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders to ensure their active participation in program planning and implementation.
• Facilitate community-led initiatives and empower local institutions to take ownership of agriculture and livelihood projects.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:

• Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the progress and impact of agriculture and livelihood programs.
• Collect and analyses data on program outcomes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Use findings to improve program effectiveness, document success stories, and share learnings with stakeholders.

6. Partnership Development and Networking:

• Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise for agriculture and livelihood development.
• Represent the organization in relevant forums, networks, and partnerships related to agriculture, livelihoods, and rural development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Agribusiness, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in agriculture, livelihood development, or rural development projects.
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise in sustainable agriculture practices, crop management, and livestock farming.
• Experience in livelihood diversification strategies, income generation activities, and value chain development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to rural development and improving the lives of marginalized communities.
• Fluency in [local language, if applicable] is desirable.
