Senior Accounts & Finance Officer / Accounts & Finance Officer
NFD (Nehru Foundation for Development), established in 1966 by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, is a Public Charitable Trust working across environment, sustainable development, education, health, livelihoods and climate change. Through its institutions – VASCSC, VIKSAT, CHETNA, CEE, SSUD, KHAMIR – NFD advances education and sustainable development initiatives.
NFD is seeking experienced accounts and finance professionals for its institutions.
Role & Responsibilities
The positions require professionals to manage accounting and financial systems, ensure statutory compliance, support organisational decision-making, and engage effectively with donors, partners and auditors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently manage accounting and finance functions across programmes and institutions
- Ensure full compliance with FCRA, Income Tax, GST, TDS, PF and PT regulations, including timely statutory payments and filings
- Manage payroll and timely disbursement of salaries
- Track cash flow, investments and earmarked funds
- Handle internal, statutory, project and donor audits, and ensure timely closure of audit observations
- Strengthen financial systems, processes, controls and reporting frameworks
- Lead budgeting, financial planning and MIS reporting
- Provide timely financial analysis and decision support to leadership
- Coordinate with Programme Directors/Coordinator and funding agencies, including donor and CSR reporting
- Ensure timely processing of bills, payments and follow-up with debtors and creditors
- Finalise accounts, prepare balance sheets, annual budgets and statutory returns
- Supervise and guide accounts and programme support teams
Required Profile: Strong grounding in accounting systems such as Tally ERP, cloud-based platforms or SAP. Sound understanding of accounting standards, statutory requirements and compliance systems. Experience in payroll management and financial reporting. Ability to work to timelines and operate in a multi-institutional environment. Good communication and presentation skills in English.
Qualification: CA,/M.Com with Inter CA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
Experience: & Salary:
Sr Accounts & Finance Officer: 10+ years. Rs 80000 + per month
Accounts & Finance Officer: 7+ years. Rs 65000+ per month
Experience in the social development sector will be preferred. Positions are transferrable across NFD institutionsWillingness to travel as required. Initial appointment for 3 years, extendable based on performance
