Lead – Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
 
Location: Alwar, Rajasthan | Reporting to: Executive Director

Role Purpose
The Lead – Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) will architect and institutionalize a robust MEL ecosystem to enable data-driven decision-making, strengthen program effectiveness, and enhance accountability. The role emphasizes learning, adaptation, and evidence generation.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
1. MEL Strategy & Systems
  • Design and implement organization-wide MEL frameworks
  • Develop indicators, tools, and tracking systems
  • Align MEL with donor and program requirements
2. Program Effectiveness
  • Support program teams in integrating MEL into design
  • Track outcomes and recommend improvements
  • Ensure adaptive program management
3. Data & Insights
  • Oversee data collection and validation
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data
  • Generate insights for strategy and reporting
4. Capacity Building
  • Build and strengthen internal MEL capacities through training, mentoring, and guidance to program teams.
  • Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement across the organization
5. Knowledge Management
  • Lead systematic documentation of program successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Support storytelling, knowledge dissemination, and advocacy efforts to amplify impact in the women’s empowerment sector.
Core Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong presentation skills
  • Deep understanding of development sector dynamics and grassroots interventions
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing MEL systems and tools
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant data tools
Qualifications & Experience
  • Postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in Management, Rural Development, Social Work, or related disciplines from a reputed institution
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the development sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within MEL
  • Demonstrated experience in managing MEL systems for large-scale programs
