Under the Preconception care Project, Jhpiego is hiring Program Coordinator based at Munger. The position will be responsible for providing technical and functional support in respective districts towards preconception care services. S/he will work closely with the government officials, stakeholders, and district/block/AAM teams to ensure effective implementation of preconception care in districts of Bihar as per the need of the project. The position will report to Program Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide programmatic and administrative support to the program officer to ensure timely conduction of orientation meetings, assessments, trainings and other program activities as per the project work-plan.
• Undertake preparation, including organizing and ensuring logistic support for trainings, including onsite trainings to ensure quality.
• Support program officers in preparing program activity reports.
• Work with district/block-level health officials and AAM team for leveraging support regarding preconception care strategies through Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
• Support the team in identification of bottlenecks and streamlining the supply of resources.
• Facilitate training of the frontline workers at the project focus facilities/districts.
• Undertake visits to AAMs/VHSNDs to assess site preparedness, service delivery and resource availability, and provide onsite support to frontline workers for effective preconception care services.
• Support in collection of training and service delivery data from field and ensure that it is updated and reported timely and regularly at the district and state level.
• Manage database for the trainings conducted including provider trained by cadre and submit periodic reports to district and state offices.
• Work with the program teams, facilities and government counterparts to implement, monitor and report on training activities including M&E frameworks and reports.
• Develop tracking plan for supportive supervision visits following trainings to support the providers in establishing and institutionalizing the ANC services.
• Support it data collection and validation as per the project needs.
• Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor to achieve the project goals.
Abilities/Skills:
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as assessment reports, program reports etc.
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
• Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 50% of his/her time
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s in arts/ commerce/ social sciences/ social work/Diploma Nursing/ Public Health with Masters in any relevant discipline is essential.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in programmatic, administrative and data support function.
• Experience in a similar role in public/development sector/ INGOs is highly desirable
