Position Overview
Sikshasandhan is seeking a dedicated and motivated Paravet to support goat-based livelihood and animal health interventions under the OSED Project in Sarat Block of Mayurbhanj district.

Educational Qualification: Must have completed a 02-year Government Recognized Course in Animal Health
Roles and Responsibilities of Paravet
The Paravet will be responsible for implementing animal well-being activities in their project area by doing the following:
1. Responsible for Training SHG members on Improved Animal Management and special regional Animal Species of relevance as in project, after getting trained by Heifer
2. Assist with Training of CAVES and vaccinators by their Hand holding through monthly meetings as per module and in field support.
3. Ensure adoption of IAM practices ex Improved Housing, Improved fodder production by regular SHG visits
4. Assist with Farmer Field School Cycles
5. Responsible for implementation of herd improvement strategy by the SHG
6. Responsible for Deworming and Quality Vaccination of all animals of all SHG members through CAVEs
7. Conduct Awareness Campaigns on animal management with Vaccinators & CAVE
8. Attend diseased animals and use them as training opportunities for CAVE & Vaccinator
9. Maintaining proper records of daily activity and reporting to supervisors
10. Reporting all mortalities to immediate supervisors
11. Ensure Quality animal placements with SHGs
12. Being the point person for showcasing the success of animal wellbeing practices to the external visitors (HPI and others) at the time of visits
13. Network with local vet.services and develop linkages with major Government programs
14. Make sure that all the CAVEs, Vaccinators get required IAM materials on time and do the service to the project families as per the requirement.
15. Ensure quality livestock procurement, their comfortable legal transport and insurance of same. Also helping in getting verification for claims.
Salary & Benefits
• Monthly Salary: ?17,500
• Fuel Allowance: ?2,300 per month
