Position: Finance and HR Officer, REACH
Based in: Chennai
Start-date: At the earliest
REACH is a non-profit organisation working on Tuberculosis and Non-communicable diseases for over 25 years. The Finance and HR Officer will be based at the REACH Head office in Chennai and will fulfill a key role in supporting the REACH senior finance team in all financial and HR aspects. The ideal candidate will be a quick thinker, resourceful problem solver and highly productive worker who delivers high quality work consistently. Specific responsibilities will include:
Finance:
- Ensuring timely coordination for payment processing to vendors, staff payments,
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping, and adherence to institutional financial policies
- Verifying bills/invoices for payment processing.
- Preparing NEFT letters for bank payments
- Passing necessary entries in day book in Tally on daily basis
- Printing and enclosing supporting bills/invoices/approval along with bank receipt voucher / bank payment vouchers/journal vouchers etc
- Bank Reconciliation on monthly basis
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Human Resources (HR)
- Ensuring timely coordination with internal teams, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to institutional HR policies
- Assisting in job postings, candidate consolidation, and interview coordination.
- Verifying documents of selected candidates
- Preparing offer letters, onboarding kits, and ensuring completion of joining formalities.
- Maintaining recruitment trackers and ensuring documentation completeness.
- Drafting contract extension letters, contract amendment letters and tracking employment contracts for REACH staff.
- Validating leave records and time sheet on monthly basis
- Maintaining updated personnel records, HR databases, attendance registers, leave records, timesheets.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
- Bachelor’s degree in B.Com / Human Resources/ Business Administration, or related/allied disciplines with atleast 3–5 years work experience.
- Strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and accounting software like Tally.
- Experience of finance roles in a non-profit setting preferred
- Exemplary verbal and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- A willingness to carry out a wide range of activities, including both professional and logistical tasks
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations
- Knowledge and fluency of Tamil essential, knowledge of Hindi is an asset
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
