In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Unitaid, UNICEF, World Health Organization, University of Manitoba, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others. Multiple programs implemented by Jhpiego with different state governments are having specific learning agenda and objectives. Each program involves wide range of data collection in various implementation geographies across India.

About the project- The RISE (Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control) project builds on previous PEPFAR investments to sustain critical life-saving HIV services in India. The project focuses on strengthening the HIV care continuum, improving retention and adherence, and supporting the transition of the HIV response to the Government of India.

RISE aims to ensure continuity of essential HIV services such as testing, counselling, ART, linkage to care, follow-up, and retention—especially for populations most at risk of disengagement.

The project supports PLHIV, including children, adolescents, and caregivers, across multiple states in India. It is guided by three key principles:

Improving access to life-saving services: Closing gaps in testing, treatment, adherence, and retention
Community engagement: Working with communities and peer networks to ensure stigma-free services
Client-centered approach: Ensuring services respond to the needs of beneficiaries
