Background of Organization:
Kalike is an associate organisation of Tata Trusts seeded in 2012. Kalike through its direct field engagement, strives to facilitate deep, large-scale, and long-term impact on the quality of life through the interventions in area of Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Skill development for Youths, Water and Sanitation, Agri-based Livelihood and Elderly Care. Besides facilitating interventions in partnership with the state governments and other NGOs/Institutions, Kalike plays a critical role in providing monitoring services and technical support to Trusts partners; incubating new innovations/strategies, acts as a knowledge hub and works towards scaling up programs for long-term impact.
Followed with this successful engagement, Kalike started expanding their services to neighbouring districts with ECE interventions and other districts like Kodagu as a response to the nature calamities. Kalike’s core strength lies in laisoning, collaborating and strengthen the Department efforts on the ground. Kalike works closely with the State & District Administration for effectively implementing the planned interventions.
Our multi-thematic and integrated model works to bring about sustainable change, moving the community towards holistic human development. With over a decade since our inception, our base of operations is steadily spreading across regions of Karnataka & Tamil Nadu.
About Robust Early Learning Initiative (RELI)
Early learning of children up to 8 years of age lays foundations for their future growth and learning. The importance of providing stimulating learning environment from early years has been widely recognized in research including high returns on investment for robust early learning.
Through this three-year RELI project, Kalike will support (a) the creation of the Early Learning Network of India (ELNI) comprising of professional organizations in the early learning domain; and (b) support partner organisations of Trusts with designing and implementing robust early learning programmes.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, RELI PROJECT
Position: Kannada Lead, RELI Project

Reporting Officer: Project Lead - RELI
Location: Koppal
Salary Commensurate with experience and skill sets
Position Purpose:
The selected candidate will anchor the RELI program in Koppal, facilitating sessions and supporting with classroom innovation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Plan, design and facilitate sessions in collaboration with the Project Lead, Literacy Lead and Numeracy Lead for model schoolteachers and Kalike Project Coordinators.
• Support Project Coordinators and teachers in their planning and facilitation of Kannada and Math classes for Grades 1-3.
• Anchor weekly reflections for teachers and Project Coordinators.
• Strengthen children’s exposure to and experiences of literature.
• Spend 2-3 days a week in model schools and the Kalike offices in Koppal and Kushtagi.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
• Teacher Education facilitation experience or classroom teaching experience, preferably in Kannada
• Academic and writing skills in Kannada for session development, classroom planning and reflective practice.
• Academic writing skills in English for analyses, report and case study writing, etc.
Education Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Kannada, Social Sciences or Education.
• Experience in working with Early Literacy or Numeracy classes is desirable.
