About the Project
The Waste No More Initiative (Urban Solid Waste Management Initiative) aims to strengthen sustainable solid waste management systems across selected Urban Local Bodies (Barasat and Sanithia Municipalities) in West Bengal supported by SBI Foundation. The project focuses on waste reduction, segregation, recycling, and capacity building of stakeholders to promote environmentally responsible urban governance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities at ULB level
• Coordinate with ULB officials, SBM teams, community groups, and State authority
• Oversee waste segregation, recycling, and scientific disposal initiatives
• Ensure timely achievement of project milestones and deliverables
• Manage project documentation, reporting, and compliance with funding agency guidelines
• Supervise field teams and provide technical and managerial guidance
• Conduct training, awareness programs, and stakeholder consultations
• Monitor data, prepare MIS reports, and support impact assessment
Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification:
• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning or equivalent
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solid waste management / urban development projects
• Prior experience working with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Government schemes (e.g., SBM-U), or donor-funded projects preferred
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong project management and coordination skills
• Good understanding of municipal solid waste management rules and practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation
• Ability to manage field operations and multidisciplinary teams
• Working knowledge of MS Office and data management tools
Remuneration
Joining: Immediate
CTC: Rs. 6, 48, 000 per annum
