Sambalpur Integrated Development Institute (SIDI), registered office located at AT/PO Jamankira Dist.- Sambalpur, 768107 Odisha. SIDI is a non-profit voluntary organisation devoted to the development of Tribal / Dalit and marginalised communities of western part of Odisha since 1990 is working to promote the best interest of disadvantaged communities of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundergarh and Angul District, with a particular focus on women and children. Over the last three decades, the organization has been streamlining the community development process through implementing programmes on education, governance and livelihood promotion.

Position- Account Officer

Role and Responsibilities of the Accounts Officer: -

1. Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Develop annual and project-specific budgets.
- Monitor and track financial performance against budgets.
- Provide financial forecasts and recommendations for resource allocation.

2. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, including donor guidelines.

3. Funding and Grants Management:
- Identify potential funding sources and assist in grant proposal writing.
- Manage grant agreements and ensure compliance with funding terms and conditions.
- Monitor and report on the utilization grant funds.

4. Financial Controls:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Implement and monitor financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular financial audits and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

5. Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for program activities.
- Monitor expenses and income to prevent cash shortages and surpluses.

6. Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost reduction, efficiency improvements and financial sustainability.

7. Financial Decision- Making:
- Provide financial advice support to the NGO’s Leadership and program managers in making informed decisions.
- Assess the financial feasibility of program activities and expansion plans.

8. Grants and Contracts Compliance:
- Ensure that the organization complies with all grant and contact requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of expenses related to specific grants and contracts.

9. Donor Relations:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with donors, including reporting on fund utilization and responding to inquiries.

10. Financial Software and Systems:
- Manage financial software and systems to streamline financial processes and reporting. (TALLY)
- Ensure that staff members are trained in using financial software effectively.

11. Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks that could impact the organization’s financial stability.
- Develop risk management strategies and policies.

12. Capacity Building:
- Provide training and support to staff members and partners on financial management best practices.
- Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency within the organization.

13. Compliance and Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit tax documents as required by local laws and regulations.

14. Grant Proposal Review:
- Participate in the review and evaluation of grant proposals to assess their financial feasibility and alignment with the organization’s mission and financial capacity.

15. Financial Sustainability:
- Develop strategies to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organization, which may include diversifying funding sources, creating income generating activities or developing endowments.

16. Ethical and Legal Considerations:
- Uphold ethical and legal standards in financial management, including transparency, honesty and the avoidance of conflict of interest.

17. Payroll Processing- Calculating and processing employee salaries, taxes and benefits accurately and on time.
18. Expenses Tracking- Monitoring and controlling expenses to optimise financial resource Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
19. Support and collaborate with Program Director and other team heads in Annual Planning & Budgeting Process.
20. Ensure timely payment to staff/vendors.
21. Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with the provisions of Companies Act, Income tax Act, TDS, FCRA and internal policies and procedures and financial standards
22. Analyse monthly financial statements (Balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows) and effectively convey analysed to staff as requested.

Qualification and Skills required:
• B. Com\ M. Com with specialization in Accounting/Finance. Working knowledge of NGO Accounting is preferred.
• Must have minimum 4-5 years of work experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting and Statutory Compliance along with working knowledge of Excel and Tally software.
• Familiarity with the way non-profit/CSR organizations are structured
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management and forecasting methods
• Strong English communication and writing, fluency, presentation skills
• Can work independently
• Organize tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrate good judgment and good problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage stress and responsibility
• Must be a team player and keep their eyes focused on the wider goals of the organization
• Strong team player and gender sensitive

Salary: Annual CTC will be up to INR 5,40,000/-.
