About the Project
The Physiotherapy Van Project aims to provide free physiotherapy services to underprivileged senior citizens living in slum and low-income communities. Through mobile physiotherapy units, the project seeks to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance the quality of life of elderly individuals who otherwise have limited access to rehabilitation services.
Position Summary
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for delivering physiotherapy services to senior citizens through the mobile physiotherapy van. The role involves patient assessment, treatment, field travel, and maintaining records, while ensuring effective and compassionate care in community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physiotherapy assessments and develop treatment plans for elderly patients
- Provide therapy for conditions such as arthritis, stroke recovery, joint pain, and mobility issues
- Deliver exercise therapy, manual therapy, and basic electrotherapy
- Travel with the physiotherapy van to designated locations as per schedule
- Set up and manage physiotherapy equipment at each site
- Ensure proper handling and safe usage of all equipment
- Maintain records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress
- Track daily number of patients treated
- Submit regular reports to the reporting manager
- Educate patients on home exercises and mobility improvement
- Provide guidance on fall prevention and pain management
- Coordinate with program staff and field teams
- Communicate with caregivers when required
- Ensure adherence to schedule, service standards, and organizational protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of equipment and work area
- Achieve daily patient coverage and service delivery targets
Required Qualification & Experience
- BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) – MPT is an added advantage
- 2–5 years’ experience
- Experience working with elderly patients will be an advantage
Skills Required
- Good clinical and practical physiotherapy skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in field-based settings
- Basic documentation and reporting skills
- Patience and empathy while working with elderly individuals
