Our work is rooted in community-driven solutions, child rights advocacy, and creating safe, inclusive learning spaces for children who live and work on the streets.

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Relationship Officer to lead our community outreach, school linkage, and child mobilisation efforts. This person will play a critical role in identifying street children, engaging with families and communities, facilitating availing credentials (e.g., Aadhaar, birth certificates), and ensuring access to socio-legal support in coordination with Police, CWC, OSCPCR, Education Department etc. The Relationship Officer will also coordinate with schools, child protection systems, and government stakeholders to facilitate school enrollment, retention, and legal protection for vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities
A. Community Outreach & Child Mobilisation
• Conduct field visits, identify out-of-school or street-connected children.
• Engage children and families through one-on-one counselling, group meetings, and home visits.
• Build trust and rapport with families living in vulnerable urban zones and shelters.
• Enrol children in Community Learning Center and Schools
• Ensure retention of children in Community Center and Schools
B. School & Credential Linkage
• Facilitate school enrolment, bridge course referrals, and regular school follow-up.
• Support documentation and credential-making: Aadhaar, birth certificates, transfer certificates, etc.
• Coordinate with school authorities and education officers to ensure admission and retention.
C. Stakeholder Engagement & Legal Linkage
• Liaise with Child Welfare Committees (CWC), police, Childline, and government departments.
• Support children in legal distress by coordinating legal aid, protection referrals, or repatriation.
• Attend multi-stakeholder meetings, represent Ashayen Trust in community or ward-level child protection platforms.
D. Child Tracking & Reporting
• Maintain and update individual child records, including educational status, health, and legal needs.
• Support the MIS team with documentation and reporting related to outreach and legal interventions.
• Contribute to periodic case studies, child success stories, and programme reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, Education, Sociology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of field experience working with vulnerable communities or children at risk.
• Strong understanding of child rights, RTE Act, and protection mechanisms under the Juvenile Justice Act.
• Familiarity with school systems, welfare schemes, and government documentation processes.
• Fluency in Odia and Hindi; working knowledge of English desirable.
• Comfort with mobile-based data tools, MS Excel, and Google Forms preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; empathetic and field-oriented mindset.
• Ability to manage time, travel across field sites, and work independently.

Remuneration:
Monthly consolidated remuneration will be 18000-20000 Rupees based on the qualification and experience. EPF deductions shall be applicable as per standard norms.
Travel Allowance will be applicable as per the existing policy of the organization.
