The Speech and Hearing Institute and Research Centre (SHIRC) is a not-for-profit organisation registered under Society Act XXVI of 1961 in 1980, dedicated to supporting prelingual and post-lingual deaf children. We dedicated to supporting prelingual and post-lingual deaf children. Established in 1978, SHIRC has grown from its modest beginnings to become a fully-fledged institution with a dedicated centre in Kolkata and four additional rural centres. While SHIRC’s primary focus has been on caring for speech and hearing-impaired children in West Bengal and Eastern India, the institution has expanded its scope to collaborate with various agencies. SHIRC offers a comprehensive array of services, including early identification, treatment, and rehabilitation, which are delivered through a parent-professional partnership, home training, preparation for integrated and special education, vocational training, and daycare programs. By combining its expertise in speech and hearing impairment with the Golf View Healthcare & Research Institute, SHIRC aims to extend its commitment to providing exceptional care to women and children, ensuring their well-being in all aspects of their lives.

Position Overview
SHIRC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Fund Raising Personel and Senior Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships Lead to spearhead institutional and philanthropic fundraising efforts in India.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of proven fundraising experience, strong access to foundations (Indian), corporates (private and public sector), individual donors, family offices and philanthropists. A demonstrated track record of raising substantial funds from these donor segments is an essential requirement.

This role requires strategic thinking, relationship-building excellence, strong presentation and
marketing skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to design and execute a comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Fundraising Leadership
Donor Relationship Management & Retention
Drive long-term donor engagement and retention strategies
Represent SHIRC at donor forums, conferences, CSR platforms, and philanthropic networks
Ensure high-quality stewardship, reporting, impact communication & Partnership Development
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with institutional and philanthropic stakeholders
Lead negotiations and closure of funding agreements
Collaborate with Program and Research teams to develop compelling proposals and concept
notes aligned with donor priorities
Work with Communications to craft impactful messaging and produce high-quality fundraising
collateral (pitch decks, case studies, impact reports, digital content).
Confidently present SHIRC’s vision, impact, and strategy to senior decision-makers.
Travel to meet donors and partners and attend key industry forums and philanthropic events.
