Job Details of CEO – Farmer Producer Company (FPC)
Position -Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Reporting To-Board of Directors (BoD) / Chairperson of the FPC
Nature of Position-Full-time

Roles and Responsibilities
1. Business Planning and Management
• Prepare annual business plans, operational plans, and growth strategies for the FPC.
• Identify business opportunities in agriculture, input supply, aggregation, processing, value addition, and marketing.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day management of the FPC.
• Support the Board in decision-making related to business expansion and sustainability.
2. Procurement and Aggregation
• Organize aggregation of produce from member farmers.
• Coordinate procurement, collection, grading, sorting, storage, and transportation of agricultural produce.
• Ensure proper quantity and quality control during procurement.
3. Marketing and Sales
• Develop market linkages for agricultural produce and value-added products.
• Negotiate with buyers, traders, wholesalers, institutions, and companies.
• Facilitate better price realization for farmers.
• Promote branding, packaging, and sales of FPC products.
4. Input Supply and Farmer Services
• Ensure timely supply of quality agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, farm tools, and equipment to members.
• Coordinate extension services and advisory support for farmers.
• Promote climate-smart and improved agricultural practices among members.
5. Financial Management
• Maintain oversight of the financial health of the FPC.
• Prepare budgets, monitor income and expenditure, and ensure proper utilization of funds.
• Coordinate with accountant/auditor for bookkeeping, audit, GST, and statutory compliance.
• Facilitate access to credit, working capital, and financial support from banks and institutions.
6. Member Mobilization and Coordination
• Maintain regular communication with farmer members, shareholders, and producer groups.
• Increase membership and member participation in FPC activities.
• Organize meetings, awareness sessions, and business discussions with members.
• Ensure member satisfaction and trust in the FPC.
7. Coordination with Board of Directors
• Assist the Board in conducting Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings (AGM), and other statutory meetings.
• Implement decisions taken by the Board.
• Provide regular updates on business performance, operations, and financial status.
8. Record Keeping and Compliance
• Ensure maintenance of company records, licenses, statutory documents, and legal registers.
• Ensure compliance with Companies Act, FPC regulations, taxation, audit, and other applicable rules.
• Prepare reports, minutes, and documentation as required.
9. Liaison and Partnership Development
• Coordinate with government departments, NABARD, SFAC, banks, NGOs, CSR agencies, buyers, and technical partners.
• Explore schemes, grants, and business support opportunities for the FPC.
• Build partnerships for strengthening the FPC.
10. Team Supervision
• Supervise staff such as accountant, procurement assistant, field coordinators, marketing staff, and others.
• Assign responsibilities and monitor staff performance.
• Build a professional and accountable work culture within the FPC.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate in Agriculture / Agribusiness / Rural Management / Commerce / Business Administration / related field
• Preference may be given to candidates with MBA / PG Diploma in Agribusiness / Rural Management
• Basic knowledge of agriculture value chains and rural business operations
Experience
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in agribusiness, FPO/FPC management, rural enterprise, agriculture marketing, procurement, or farmer institution development
• Experience in working with farmers, collectives, producer groups, SHGs, or cooperatives is preferred
